8,4:On the nose, the first impression we get is medicinal with esters, varnish and very fruity with citrus and tropical fruits like banana and pineapple, vegetal with olive, flowery, as the wood is roasted with tons of confectionery like pastry, cookie dough and marzipan. On aeration, the molasses comes out slightly dark with licorice, fresh with grass, the rubber is a bit burnt, also the wood with cocoa and spicy. 8,6:On the palate, the attack is medicinal with esters and solvents, sweet with roasted wood notes like biscuits, pastry, nuts, cocoa, cookie dough, buttery, creamy with butterscotch, some cream, spicy(vanilla) and salty, the molasses helps with sweetness, slight bitterness with honeycomb, licorice, is later herbaceous and grassy.The rum is fruity with tropical and citrus fruits, when aired also with red fruits and currants, goes towards slight astringency. 8,5:The finish is long, dry, slightly smoky, metallic, with notes from the palate lingering on, while some tea gives rum more freshness. Tastes like an OWH. No esters present. But overall a good rum. Too little Hampden DNA for me overall.
