This is the last Malecon in the “Rare Proof” series for me to taste. It’s like the others some of the best sweet “Spanish styled” rum in my opinion cause the ABV around 50% balance the sweetness in a good way.

Good example why I hardly ever drink Spanish-style rum anymore. With coloring, feels like noticeable dosing too, plus a boring and one-dimensional, albeit pleasant profile. Straight into the tiramisu with it!

Nice spaniel. Although lately I have the feeling that sweet rums don't do anything for me anymore, this was pleasantly different. Dried fruit with a bit of spice and a longer, very pleasant finish. I'll repeat myself again. A perfect rum for a non-rum visit.

This is my first Spanish-style rum that I can really get something out of. Nice, somewhat more complex aroma of spices, some wood and orange. The taste doesn't disappoint either and again spices and orange are present. The finish is warm and of medium length.

8,4:On the nose, the opening is very tempting with variety of fruits like berries, peaches, orange and maracuja, notes from roasted, slightly charred wood as cappuccino, leather, bacon, then tobacco from molasses. On aeration, nice prunes are out, caramelized burnt sugar. 8:On the palate, the attack is sweet with charred wood notes like caramelized brown sugar, nuts, dark chocolate, molasses brings honey, as the fruits are dried with raisins, apricots, then yellow with peaches, tropical with maracuja, banana and in the end orange peel.The wood is also spicy with cinnamon, pepper, salt, a bit tannic, smoky and dark with cappuccino, leather. 7,9:The finish is long, sweet&dry, also smoky and tannic with notes lingering from the palate, some confectionery, toasted coconut, as the banana is overripe..

#6038 06.12.2025 Need a short break from all the whites I need to sample and spit. It is weekend againg and heavy trance is on the air right now and the mood it just up where it belongs on a really good day. Nose Fresh, round, light wood, caramel, light mango, light vegetal, tobacco, faint coffee, light herbal, light orange. Palate Oily, fresh, round, naturally sweet, light wood, light roasted, dried fruit, spice, light coffee, caramel, light orange. Finish Medium to long, naturally sweet, wood, light roasted, raisin, light orange, light caramel. Empty glass Caramel, light vanilla, fruits, light coffee, light chocolate, light leather.

Nose is little between spicy and acl. Tongue is something between sweet, spicy, wood, spirit... Like wanted but not mastered. Nothing half and nothing whole. Not my thing, pity.
