Dirty like many Clairins. These Haitian rums are not for sensitive palates. They can be aggressive just like this Vaval, but tasting after tasting you learn to appreciate and love them. If aerated for a while it is better.

Northern Lights Meeting 2025: Super fresh on the nose: grass, sugar cane, fresh meadow. Then fruit and sugar. Sweetish, fresh, lime and a hint of eucalyptus on the palate. The finish is short but fruity. I like it!

03.04.2020 Nice private tasting with a new group of rummies. Notes. Transparent in colour. Nose Fresh, tomato, olive, clove, light licorice, light citrus. Palate Fresh, warm, olive, citrus, ginger, light licorice, mint. Finish Medium long, spicy/warm, ginger, light licorice, faint rubber.

I expected more, both on the nose and palate. The alcohol does not push much. Otherwise, both as taste and scent, it makes it immediately clear that this is a white Clairin. (PS: the rating, like impressions, are purely personal)

On the nose: glue, brine, vegetal notes and a hint of oyster-like marine notes. I must say, I'm not a big fan. On the palate, the vegetal notes take over, with a little lemon zest thrown in for good measure. Medium iodized and metallic finish.

Je to podobné jako koriandr, buď to miluješ nebo nenávidíš, za mě miluju. Je to úplně jiný typ rum, než piju obvykle, ostatní to přirovnávají hodně ke slivovovici y(pálence) než k rumu.. je to něco jiného než “běžný rum”
