Got this 5cl sample from the RR Tasting Club. The Emperor Sherry finished Rum is a a blend of aged rum made from fresh sugar cane juice (40%) and molasses (60%). This amber colored rum is aged in American and French oak barrels for 5-12 years whereafter it’s given a 6-month finish in sherry casks before bottled. Overall it’s quite alike the Heritage version, but with Sherry hints of course. For me it’s too sweet and I characterize it as a rum mostly belonging to the Spanish style.

Jetzt ein Emperor mit Sherry Cask Finish. Das Sherry Cask ist auf jeden Fall in der Nase wahrnehmbar. Sher fruchtig in der Nase. Am Gaumen dann ebenfalls dad Sherry Cask und Kirsche deutlich zu erkennen. Außerdem leicht holzig.

On The Rocks: On the nose there is a strong Agricole and Sherry mixture. Taste showcases a stronger Sherry and Agricole mix with some fruit and floral mixing with a mild spice. Finish is medium with the Sherry and Spice continuing to linger. Mixed Pepsi Zero: on the nose Pepsi Zero. Taste is sweet and smooth but no distinct Sherry flavour. It is quite delicious mixed but you lose the little complexity that it has developed. Finish is short.
