Für diesen Rum muss man sich Zeit nehmen! Im Geruch ist er ein typischer Jamaicaner...Banane leicht vergoren, etwas Ananas und Ester Aber dann: vom Geschmack anfangs ein Jamaicaner mit einer pfeffrigen Note wechselt er anschließend in das rauchige torfige eines Whiskys! Verliert dabei aber nicht seinen Rumanteil völlig! Ein echtes Geschmackserlebnis!! Abgang: hier überwiegt der Whiskyanteil und es bleibt ein anhaltender rauchiger Geschmack, jedoch nicht so intensiv wie bei einem Whiskey! Für mich ein absoluter Gewinner-Rum

For me personally almost undrinkable anymore, the Islay Finish Panama was clearly much more harmonious. This one really tastes almost only like Islay whisky which just doesn't work for me... only salty and peaty/medicinal... shame.

Unusual Worthy Park with a distinctly smoky note that clearly deviates from the typical distillery profile. On the nose smoke, wood and spicy depth, only subtly underlaid by pineapple and banana. On the palate strong, dry and bitter with pronounced smoke, some fruit and a slight sweetness in the background. The alcohol is well integrated, the finish long and spicy. An exciting, independent rum that surprises with its smoky character.

Gibt mit Sicherheit Fans aber auch Hater. Ich trinken ab und zu auch gerne Whisky auch Rauchige von daher für mich sehr gelungen. Braucht unbedingt 20 min Standzeit nötig. Bei ein wenig Verdünnung im Glas entsteht deutlich mehr Fruchtigkeit. Dadurch deutlich angenehmer für den Rumtrinker. Nach längerer Öffnung der Flasche muss ich meine Wertung allerdings anheben. Was hier mit dem Rum passiert ist richtig lecker. Der Rum ist deutlich im Vordergrund (Rauch immer noch vorhanden. Für mich aber ganz einfach ein richtig Geiger Daily Sipper.

Zu Beginn überwiegt die Fruchtigkeit des Marks mit typischen WP Noten, welche mit der Zeit zuhnemnd durch die Raucharomem des Finish ergänzt und im Abgang dominiert werden. Dies ergänzt das typische Profil durch interessante Noten und schafft someone Alleinstellungsmerkmal. Toller Rum

Tried as a 2cl sample. As expected from the 2-year Laphroaig Cask Finish, nose of smoke, wood, earth mixed with really ripe banana from the WP. On the palate, the finish clearly dominates over the WP, sometimes a bit of fruit comes through but unfortunately disappears just as quickly as it came. The smoky earthy taste unfortunately masks the fruity notes I usually appreciate in rum. An interesting experiment, but at a price of 60€/0.5l (07/02/2022) I don’t need a repeat.

One of the few - known to me - rums with whisky finish where the peat notes don't completely overshadow the distillate. Although these are prominently present, Worthy Park plays an equal role. The resulting varied interplay can be followed from nose through mouth to palate, varying in emphasis but never losing balance. Successful.

Worthy Park at first nose before whisky and peat take over. Nice woodiness. On the palate, the rum is very discreet. Much more on a peated whisky profile with a hint of fruit. Tobacco, leather, peat, smoky. Dark profile. A bit of acidity. Very whisky. I’d also like to try it in a revised boulevardier.

Very interesting. Nicely smoky. For fans of medium smoky whisky or smoked beer, certainly just right to find an entry point with rum. Those who absolutely don't like smoke will probably not like this rum. I like it, as it combines the beautiful fruit aromas of Worthy Park with pleasant smoke.

The alcoholic note overpowers a bit everything and even if you give it time to open up, the alcoholic note continuously dominates. On the nose, it is very pleasant and well balanced, immediately showing all the distillery's aromas while over time the barrel note comes out. I expected a bit more peat but overall it is well balanced. On the palate, in the initial phase, the alcohol level is not well balanced. The distillery notes tone it down making it seem less unbalanced but giving it more time doesn't change that. After about twenty minutes, the smoky note is more noticeable, perceived more as an aftertaste but in my opinion it doesn't spoil it and I didn't dislike it; in fact, I find the finish in ex Laphroaig well integrated and pleasant. In the finish, I find the alcohol less integrated even though it slightly loses strength. The finish is medium. On the nose, I found it far superior to the palate.

Typical WP smell:Tropical fruits and funk. On the background very subtle the peatsmoke and oak comes in. Taste: again so typical WP (love it!) in the aftertaste the Laphroaig finish comes trough: warm oaky peatyness. Nice! It works complimentary with the spirit. Well done.

I diluted the rum to about 46%. At first I didn't like it at all. I tried the rum several times and diluted it. Now I find it interesting and I quite like it. But I'm also a fan of Laphroaig.

Super rum. Smoky, woody, dry. Reminds from start to finish of Scotch; not at all what you expect from Jamaica. It's actually a pity that the finish is relatively short. To sum it up with the words of a "legend": Awesome, it's tasty ;-)

Nase: Das Islayfinish hat deutliche Spuren hinterlassen. Rauchige Noten, Tabak und Malz vom Whisky sind dominierend. Gaumen: Whisky! Islay dominiert und lässt dem Jamaikaner nicht den Hauch einer Chance an die Oberfläche zu kommen. Abgang: Rauchig und ganz spät auch noch ein Hauch von Honig. Wer rauchige Whiskys mag, ist mit diesem Rum gut beraten. Alle, die einen Jamaikaner erwarten, Finger weg.
