Neisson L‘Esprit de Neisson Bio 2020
One taster called this "the best blanc agricole" they'd tried, and the praise keeps coming back to one idea: 70% that drinks far softer than it should. Expect fresh sugarcane up front, lychee, lime and grapefruit, a touch of salt, and marzipan on the finish. Several found it almost too intense neat; a couple don't sip blanc agricole pure at all and reach for a Ti Punch.
- ABV well integrated
- Fresh sugarcane, citrus
- Creamy mouthfeel

Neisson is with this 2020 L'Esprit Bio 70% back with a 70% version of their L’Esprit Bio after having released a 66% version in between. It’s made from red cane in the Neisson column still whereafter it’s after resting is bottled without any reduction. Overall a great AOC Agricole Blanc that’s very, almost too intense.

What a nice release and that they're back at 70% again. Intense and fruity with nice floral notes. Needs to rest for a good while to release all the nice flavours. Also needs to rest for a while before giving it a go.

Holy smokes! Uncorking the bottle, I honestly though „is this a Ti Punch pre-mix 😱“ (obviously hoping such thing does not exist)… intense citrus zest and some sweetness on the nose. Very nice. Also very good on the palate as well. Lime and grapefruit. Well balanced. I don’t get vegetal notes really. Quite some sweetness and a creamy mouthfeel. Drinks way to smooth for its ABV. Excellent white Agricole - recommended!

Alcohol very well integrated for the many percentages. Very nice fruitiness!

For me, this type of rum is not for drinking straight. I have to admit that it doesn't really suit my taste. Nevertheless, it is a very fine drop that I can imagine very well as a mixer in a Ti punch, for example.

A rum that leaves no one indifferent. The nose is intensely floral and fruity, with sweet hints of lychee and sugarcane. The palate is powerful yet well-balanced. A hint of saline and citrus fruit completes the picture. Despite a high voltage of 70%, this rum reveals itself to be very supple and complex, very aromatic and pleasant. The finish is long and very warm. Another Neisson gem.

Already a very cool rum. Grassy, sugar cane, concentrated on the nose with some lychee. Also nice and pleasantly dry on the palate. Great in the Ti Punch. Less olive and drier compared to the Langueteau Genesis tasted at the same time.

Clean and precise. A very fine expression of Agricole rum.

In der Nase eine sehr schöne Frische. Beim zweiten riechen auch vergorene Frucht vielleicht Zitrusfrüchte. Im Mund frisch floral mit schöner Frucht. Die 70 % sind wirklich hervorragend eingebunden. Sehr lecker wenn man Agricol mag.

Neisson fan here, but actually this is my first time trying this coreline release. On the nose: Quite approachable even with high abv. This is sugarcane juice forward, i get almost none of green, grassy notes that are typically associated with agricole rum. Sweet. Lemon notes. Taste: Sugarcane juice dominates. High abv is integrated perfectly. Good amount of intensity. Mouthfeel feel is warm and creamy. I also got citrus notes. Touch of salt. I find this so simple but absolutely delicious. Finish: More of those salty notes at first. Mouthfeel is warm and a little bit oily. Marzipan notes at the end. Lovely finish. Simplicity done to the perfection. This has to be the best blanc agricole rum that i have tasted and therefore something i need to add to my collection.

Ah! Neisson the spirit, the creation of column crudes. At last I taste it. A very accessible nose, despite the degrees. Fresh, very sweet, it doesn't lack elegance with its floral side. The palate is intense, but the sweetness is such that you'd never suspect there could be 70° in there. In addition to citrus fruit and sugar-coated cane, there's a hint of lemon zest and reglissé. The finish is long and sweet, with a slight earthiness. A fine rum.

On the nose corn, fermented fruit, lychee, seaweed. The palate, on the other hand, opens on notes of roasted nuts (especially hazelnuts, cashews, and pine nuts), floral, forest, vegetable, pepper, kiwi, and barricaded brandy. Truly stunning. Lingering, oily slightly savory finish, alcohol is perfectly integrated, shows 20 degrees down. A complex and refined pearl
