RumX Advent Calendar, Day 2. Very ripe fruit on the nose, banana and pineapple, a pastry, caramel side and well-integrated wood. The palate is easy and soft, but the aromas are there. The pastry and caramel character of the nose becomes very present here, which reminds me of Foursquare, but a very simplified Foursquare. The finish is moderately long, with the aromas fading together. A very drinkable rum, even a good one, which makes you want to have a refill immediately. But certainly not a very complex rum.

The best thing about the bottle is its presentation, very nicely designed and lots of information. I also like the nose very much, the muscatel barrel comes into its own, fruit, young wood and baking spices. Unfortunately, the taste disappoints me, the few percentages are poorly integrated, it is sharp, thin and unbalanced.

So Tag 2 vom RumX Adventskalender Was für eine krasse Nummer. Je länger dieser im Glas war, desto öfters musste ich umdenken. Kurz vor Schluss zumindest auf der richtigen Spur gewesen. Ob Guatemala, Panama oder halt jetzt doch Kolumbien, die Richtung hat gestimmt. Schön wieder probiert zu haben, aber meinen Geschmack hat es leider nicht getroffen.

Rum X Advent calendar 2024, Day 2 Nose: After pouring, initially closed and rather alcoholic with some spice. Then come dried fruits (fig) and some chocolate, nuts, and Demerara sugar. Also gradually a very mild fruitiness with some esters. Some wine as well. Palate: Slightly thin at the start, spicy with tannins as well as the mentioned dried fruits and the above-described aromas. Overall rather nothing you absolutely have to try.

Rum-X Kalender 2024 Tag 2 Schöne wohlgefällige Nase, allem voran Bourbon, Trockenfrüchte und Toffee. Am Gaumen eher dünn aber übereinstimmend mit dem Eindruck von der Nase. Leichte Röstaromen und Vannille kommen dazu. Im kurzen Nachklang können mehr Röstnoten dazu, insgesamt sehr einladend, gefällig und rund. Sehr schöner Einsteigerrum, mein Tipp: höchstwahrscheinlich Foursquare mit ca. 40% Alkohol und ca. 10 Jahren Fassreifung im Bourbonfass.

RumX Adventskalender Tag 2 In der Nase denke ich eher an Barbados oder Belize Schokolade, Kaffee ,Kokosnuss und Holzige Notes . Leicht Pfeffrig in der Nase . Am Gaumen ähnliches Spiel Dunkle Schokolade, Kokosnuss und Pfeffrig . Alkohol in der Nase gut am Gaumen nicht ganz so gut eingebunden. Fruchtigkeit gibts im Prinzip garnicht. Ist jetzt nicht so wirklich mein Fall 😅

7,4:On the nose there are caramel, honey, vanilla, tropical fruits and subtle oak in the background, which is a bit toasted, with some dried fruits. You can feel it is gonna be a bit dry. 8:On the palate, it is creamy and buttery with hints of vanilla, pineapple and ripe banana. As it reaches the mid-palate, notes of dark sugar, white pepper and cinnamon appear, dried fruits and drieness, astringency, wine like. In the background subtle toasted oak and spices keep things dry against a persistent background of pineapples and ripe bananas. 7,8:The finish is brings us dried fruits, drieness, sweet wine notes and is medium with pleasant warmth of pepper and cinnamon...

Advent calendar day 2: On the nose fruity notes (orange) and honey sweetness, caramel. On the palate a bit sharp-edged. Interesting to have tried it, but it won't be my favorite from the calendar.

Day trip Baltrum September 2024. Pub Sturm-Eck. Now a La Hechicera. Slightly sweetish nose consisting of caramel and honey. On the palate then vanilla, toffee and honey. Slightly sweetish but still within limits. Quite okay.

A clear upgrade to the normal hechicera thanks to the moscatel finish! Very complex and fruity-nutty. The moscatel wine barrel really comes into its own here, I find it very, very tasty and successful. Especially unsweetened!

RumX Advent Calendar 2024: No. 2 A generally very soft and round rum that probably doesn’t have a high ABV. Very vanilla with slight woody influences. The finish could be a bit longer. Hard to find a specific country here.

Im Glas ein schöner Fabton. In der Nase etwas Frucht und eine runde Würze, bilde mir auch etwas Holz ein. Im Mund dann zuerst federleicht gefolgt von einer schönen Würze und einem leichten Abgang. Süffig aber nicht außergewöhnlich.

RumXmas 2024, day 2: Forgot the blind tasting option today, but here are the notes. Barbados could be right. Alcohol well integrated, not too powerfull. Boringly good, I’m going for Foursquare :joy: so why not: Doorly’s 14 years, RX313 Agreed that the coconut ist present… perhaps something Spanish style? I would be surprised if the ABV would hit 50%. A lower ABV Belize or Guatemala? Panama has more tobacco in the profile n my memory Very accessible, inviting to take another sip. Short finish with a dominating sweet note.

RumX Calendar 2024 Day 2: Nose first shows roasted notes, light mint and dirtiness. But not too intense. Possibly an old TDL? On the palate, surprisingly red fruits, caramel, milk chocolate dominate. Quite sweet. I don't find the impressions from the nose again. Short finish and overall quite weak. But quite easy to drink overall, good for beginners. Maybe rather something from Panama?

Day 2 of the RumX Advent calendar: A pleasant representative of the unsweetened Spanish style with a light and discreetly alcoholic distillate as well as classic cask aromas like toasted wood, caramel and vanilla. Chocolate, leather and tobacco provide the necessary maturity and a few dried fruits can also be found. Quite easy to drink and already tasty, but also a bit flat and insignificant.

Tag 2 RumX Advent calendar Hmm.. For me it leans towards Sherry Port finish. Overall quite pleasant but not my favorite. Very nutty and dried fruits with some red fruits. The base spirit can't be identified 100% but is probably more in the Spanish style. Definitely column style.

First sip has something of a Belize/Cuba mix. Rather Spanish style. Initially sweet on the tongue, then rather floral. Addendum: After analysis I was ultimately not far from Colombia.

Pur hat der Rum eine interessante Nase mit viel Frucht und Wein. Auch wenn er leider etwas scharf bleibt kann er hier durchaus gefallen. Am Gaumen viel Fasseinfluss und wieder klare Wein Noten, aber weniger Komplex als die Nase. Insgesamt einfach gestrickt und für den Alkohol Gehalt zu scharf. Dafür in Coke auf jeden Fall Bombe. Da passt er richtig gut. Adventskalender 2024 Nachtrag: Hat mir blind deutlich besser gefallen. Was sagt das 😅? Die Schärfe hat auf einen höheren Alkohol Gehalt deuten lassen. Blind noch mehr pflanzliche Anteile gefunden. Hat an einen TDL im spanischen Stil erinnert. Sehr spannend. Aber auch viele Dinge, wie die Traube wieder gefunden. Leider keine Blindverkostung mit der App möglich, da ich den Rum schon bewertet habe und die alte Bewertung nicht überschreiben möchte. Um 0,6Punkte aufgewertet

RumX Advent calendar door 2 On the nose, it takes a bit until the aroma notes come through behind the alcohol. Then more towards fruity. On the palate first with a subtle sweetness and much woodier than the scent suggested. The finish is interesting with a development towards sandalwood, licorice, and cinnamon.

RumX Advent 2024-2. On the nose caramel, milk chocolate and vanilla. In the mouth pretty much the same. Some milk coffee and a subtle wood note without being too spicy. Somewhat generic. I guess Spanish style. Could be Cuban.

Unfortunately not my thing and there are better ones even within the Spanish style. Too sweet, too thin, vanilla, coconut. Little depth. But certainly not a bad rum for beginners, although there are better priced alternatives even there.

Blind tasting Rumx calendar: Great nose. Nutty with roasted almonds. Very accessible on the palate. Hardly any sharpness. For me it strongly leans towards baked apple. Has something roasted. But the finish could have had more punch.

RumX Advent calendar 2 Seems a Demerara, a lot of liquorice makes me think about a Versailles or an encore, even if besides the caramel the rum is pretty thin. Pleasant to drink but not amazing, just ok

Significantly too sweet and one-dimensional for me. Overall a pleasing profile, but not much more. Vanilla, toffee, some dark chocolate and milk coffee, subtle dried fruits. On the palate initially very present sweetness, subtle wood aromas – the 21 years of aging are hardly noticeable. Round and pleasant, but without a unique character.

I don't know if it's because of the caramel candies in my wife's cheesecake or the many sweet things at Christmas but here caramel dominates nose and taste. Extremely creamy in the mouth and you quickly think of Toffifee. The finish a bit too alcoholic for the sweet aromas before.
