The pictured round bottle and the new, slightly more angular one have very little to do with each other in terms of taste. The old stuff in the rounder bottle has a very strong (almost artificial) banana note and is noticeably sweeter. The new one in the more angular bottle doesn't have this. It smells green and plant-like, like sugarcane. Good for drinking neat. And less sweetened. Absolutely top value for a sugarcane juice rum.

Much too sweet for me and nothing I can recommend. Aromas of caramel, vanilla and spices is recognizable. At the palate it’s very sweet with flavors of fruits, banana, ginger, caramel and vanilla together with a certain roundness.

Had expected more. A note of banana, coconut and tropical fruit on the nose, then the same on the palate. A very fruity rum, but too fruity for me. I also find the finish too long with a bitter aftertaste.

I wonder if there are artificial flavors involved here, because my taste tells me it's spiced rum. But by far not the worst I've tried. The usual vanilla flavor with banana and coconut

Number 18 from the Tastillery Advent calendar. You immediately notice from the smell that it is not a molasses rum. The smell of sugarcane juice is clearly recognizable. Along with banana and vanilla in mouth and nose. Lightly sweetened, but under 20g. Maybe a good introduction to sugarcane juice.

Banana and coconut are always at the forefront with this rum. On nose and palate, the rum seems a bit artificial, but surprisingly good on the finish. For my taste, the rum is too sweet; definitely worse spiced rums for long drinks.

This rum is ideal for anyone that loves sweetness in their alcohol. It reminds me a lot of Lambs Spiced Rum (heavily reliant on the sweetness from cinnamon). Overall it has an alcoholic smells but it is overshadowed by the sweetness. It tastes great overall but would rather use it in mixers instead of straight. Still a good rum overall and would definitely consider it as a recommendation for anyone new to rum.

Ultra-dosed “rum” that is only recommendable as a dessert liqueur or poured over ice cream (delicious btw). During aging about HALF of the content of the barrel for this rum is literally sugar syrup. I’ll let you draw your own conclusions about the outcome for its flavor and how sweet it is. The bottle, however, is a triumph. Looks phenomenal.

Lovely, vanilla and cocoa notes with mikd spiciness. Extraroma is extraordinarily well balanced. Sweet but in very reasonable amount while you can still taste the main component which is a pure sugar cane rum from Mauritius. Short to medium finish.

The nose is more appealing than the palate. The first sip is even disappointing because you don’t taste much. You have to let it linger a bit in the mouth to realize its aromas.

Very present nose of tropical fruits, dominated by grilled banana, with a pastry note. On the palate, a somewhat alcoholic attack, with a touch of wood, then a powerful note of pastry fruits. Long and fruity finish.

It smells like mead full of almond with vanilla tones. The taste is a bit confusing for me, it is sweet from the beginning and than it change to be sour. If Don Papa was agricole, I guess it would taste the same. Well, long story short, if you want to start with agricole rums, this can prepare you for the long and beautiful journey without discouraging you. (Without knowing it has sugar sirup in it, I would rate it 6.)
