#5875 19.10.2025 Relaxing in front of the TV with a new Japanese crime series. Nose Light wood, light roasted, fruits, light apple, light cherry, cognac, spice. Palate light wood, fruits, light berries, spice, faint caramel, cognac, light pear, faint citrus. Finish Medium long, light, light wood, light berries, cognac, faint roasted. Empty glas Berries, light caramel, light vanilla.

#9 Club of Enjoyment Xmas-Calendar. Nose: overwhemling fruit schnaps note, pear, cognac Mouth: fruit schnaps, fruity, pear, cherry, sour, candied fruits, peaches Finish: Medium, dry, woody, caramel, roasted Prediction: ?!?!, <5 years, 45%. Buh… rather a disgusting pear-fruit schnaps than a daily driver….Just not that type of rum I like to drink.

It's somehow hard to grasp and therefore difficult to rate. At first, I tasted the rum solo and almost would have failed it; it was too much for me with the (objectively non-existent) whisky and a certain sharpness. Then I let it breathe for a long time and compared it with another rum (Feller Port Cask, RX20108) – and lo and behold: noticeably more character than the comparison rum. Therefore, it also gets a few subjective points more than that one.

The nose immediately reminds me of a grape brandy like cognac or armagnac. On the palate comes a slight whisky note. Alcohol well integrated. Runs smoothly, as my grandma would say, which doesn't mean outstanding.

Very tasty and well-balanced daily sipper. You can really taste the 8 years in a Rémy Martin Cognac cask. I like it a lot, especially for people who want to get into the rum world, a top rum.
