A nose of old damp cellar. A vegetal mouth with still the damp cellar, a rather closed mouth. It lacks some power but especially the finish is disappointing. The impression that there was a bad barrel in the batch. Retasted and I find myself too harsh, even if it lacks power, the rum is soft and refined. The finish is not that bad with some pepper. Opened a year ago, oxidation has done its work.

It's a very beautiful Agricole rum. But personally, I'm not a fan of agricoles that lean on nutmeg and spices. The nose is superb and well balanced. On the palate at attack, the spices are very present, nutmeg leading (a bit too much for me), then it gives way to something more indulgent.

A phenomenon. A heavy Agricole with depth despite only 41.3%. Its age is clearly noticeable without being overly layered or too woody. The freshly opened bottle smells almost like red wine from a barrique barrel. A great pleasure. In the mouth, the dark grassy tones of good old Agricoles. Reminds me of older rhum JMs. A beautifully complex finish with good length, despite the low %.

Privilege in the calendar? Man I still have...a sample of this one...nose similarly inviting, perhaps less round but more engaging. Again, tea aromas come through.On the palate then actually vice versa. It's actually a bit thinner again but so well balanced it's the roundest rum on the palate I've had in the glass so far. Reminds less of tea than of the Christmas bakery. I'm going to get me a piece of gingerbread! And Merry Christmas dear readers!

The nose makes you want to stay on it for hours. Beautiful indulgent notes, it's pastry-like, with nice spices, candied fruit, honey and marzipan. A little touch of citrus, all with a woody background that stays from start to finish. The palate lacks a bit of pep, but you find a beautiful woody note that gives way to ripe fruit, honey and pastry spices follow gently. The finish is not too long, on wood and a bit of spice. A beautiful rum but lacking a bit of proof to express all its greatness. You especially feel it on the finish.

On the nose it's intriguing with sweet wood, toasted hazelnuts, unripe red fruits, caramel and a bit of tobacco and leather. On the palate it's enveloping, despite the low strength, with woody notes wrapped in caramel hazelnuts and sweet and warm spices (some peppery), with some notes of red wine and dates; the finish is delicate but leaves a dry and woody/corky aftertaste that I love. In the empty glass, roasted and aged notes.

Of the non-fruit agricole I've drank, Lulu is one of the weakest in terms of abv, but one of the best in terms of experience. Earthy aroma with a hint of candied fruit, the earthiness deepens after drinking. What could have been better is the finish, which is really short here.
