Aroma visualization from community tastings
CDI Secret Mauritius 2010
Neat it throws you off — creamy, almost yoghurt-and-butter on the nose, then a big sugarcane hit with green apple, black pepper and a slightly sour, bitter tail. Not sweet at all, and at 42% a couple of members wanted more punch behind it. One taster found it far livelier in a ti punch than sipped. An oddball single cask from a rarely-seen island.
The community says- Unusual origin
- Dry sugarcane note
- But: A touch flat

How does CDI Secret Mauritius 2010 taste?
Aggregated from 15 community reviews.
Odd, dry sugarcane sipper from Mauritius Members can't agree: some love the strange creamy-sugarcane character, others call it flat next to CDI's older Mauritius bottlings. Curious more than crowd-pleasing.

Review by crazyforgoodbooze

Too bad. If you already know and appreciate the 11- and 13-year-old, then this only slightly younger Mauritius is a disappointment. Flat, bland, ordinary. Maximum a certain citrus note on the nose after a few minutes lifts this rum still a little bit out of the gray mass.

Nosing Lemongrass, honey and wood cask Tasting Grass ,sweet cane , Oak and papaya Lovely aged agricole that is better in a ti punch than drunk neat ...

I know quite little to do with this one. On the nose, almost white wine and sugar cane. All in all, not a really successful bottling.
