A bottle opened for the occasion. A closet nose with dust and old cellar notes. Very little on the nose, but there's vegetal and some fruit. The palate is much better, with tropical fruit and vegetal notes. A long, beautiful finish with bitters and fruit, and a lingering impression of old hemp rope. There's a huge difference between a very discreet nose and a fine, full-bodied palate and, above all, a fine finish.

Very gentle well aged agricole rhum. Not too grassy. Some hay. Woodspice well integrated. Provincial herbs. Honeycomb. Freshness. Light. Dry. Astringent. Balanced, easy but not too easy. Taste def older than its age.

26.03.2021 Sitting at home enjoying some new samples I got. Notes Medium dark in colour. Nose Wood, light roasted, vegetal, light sugarcane, light citrus, faint cherry. Palate Intense, spicy, wood, dried fruit, balanced, sugarcane, light olive, faint floral. Finish Long and warm, fruits, spice, oily, wood, light spicy. Extra note. Need to rest to fully release its flavours, especially the wood shines through after resting.

First opening, vegetal nose that opened up after 15 minutes. Full-bodied, airy rum with fire. Very long finish

Tasted at GRF opening party This is my first rum from Tres Hombres, I was familiar with the name, nothing more. The packing is interesting, seems like a bottle where they store jenever in. The smell is a bit like it was old and dusty, like it had been aged in a clay pot. Taste is very good, although that same off taste is still present, but not unpleasant. All in all, a nice sample.

Decent rum. You can feel the youthfulness of the rum, with pepper and spiciness, but also apple. Poor value for money though. I expected more at this price.
