The nose is divisive — artificial citrus, glue, even disinfectant for some — but the palate flips positive: sweet, fruity, with cocoa, dark chocolate and vanilla from the bourbon oak. At 57.5% it runs peppery and hot, so it's a sipper for the curious, not an easy one.

#notapro This rum is definitely better than I rated it. I dislike the sharp smell as well as the slightly smoky note. Good that both are less pronounced in the taste than in the nose. Interesting is the peppery sharpness this rum brings. In my limited experience, I've had higher alcohol contents in the glass that were gentler.

This is a rum in the lower end of the price scale and it still performs pretty well. Fruity and sweet with some light roasted wood and spices. Draws really nice curtains in the glass and the empty glass is nice with some tobacco and chocolate.

No, I don't really like smelling this rum, you can't exactly say that. On the nose, it's relatively one-sided, overlaid with notes of artificial citrus, medicinal disinfectant, and lots of acidity. It all stings rather, and even though it becomes much more pleasant after a while, that ultimately doesn't save the very uneven impression. In the mouth, I was then positively surprised. Pleasantly sweet, smooth, and no longer really intrusive. The fruit still dominates, but overall everything seems much more balanced. What remains, however, is the rather artificial citrus note.

Very unusual Panama rum. Strange acidity, little wood, lots of citrus, somehow slightly gluey and syrupy and not particularly balanced. On the other hand, you really can't complain about ~40€ for a single cask Panama rum.

Super fruity on the nose, then alcoholic on the palate with chocolatey notes but also peppery alcoholic sharpness. If this rum is supposed to show the origin, great, but as an easy sipper? No way.

Right after pouring, there was hardly any smell except a neutral alcohol note with an artificially seeming, slightly soapy orange aroma, so I initially thought I was dealing with disinfectant. Luckily, with time and air contact, the aroma spectrum of the scent expanded, but it still doesn't grab me. On the palate, however, it shows a very appealing sweetness along with fruity notes, which are now nicely enriched by the active bourbon barrel with vanilla and wood tones, which turns the overall picture clearly positive.
