This bottling is a good introduction to Belize rums. It misses a bit of the fruity punch that the higher quality rums have but you cannot expect that for this money. In general the Rum Explorer range does what it does well: it gives you the opportunity to explore different types/countries of rum for a very democratic price. The rums are inoffensive of course but they give an excellent of the country’s profile.

Dark straw color in the glass. On the nose: vanilla, caramel, oak, bitter chocolate, aromas of leather, wet leaves, dried fruit and kitchen spices. On the tongue: at first contact it catches delicacy and reminds of a rum-based liqueur. Caramel, dried plums and apples, vanilla, a bit of cocoa, spicy spices and nuts. Finish: delicate, sweet, garnished with spiciness with a nutty aftertaste and a trace of vanilla.
