Compared to later distillates, you notice a clear difference, the 99 is still very close to the 98 Vintage. The newer, fuller-bodied era of Foursquare began with the 2004 Vintage at the latest.

On the nose vanilla, oak, peach and a hint of sweetness. In the glass, the rum appears slightly oily in a light golden yellow color. On the tongue some vanilla and oak, but relatively rather restrained. Also in the finish, some vanilla and oak are still perceivable.
