Behind the KISS band branding sits a soft, sweet dark rum that leans on sugar and syrup more than structure. Expect burnt-cask notes, chocolate and a whisper of banana funk up front, then plenty of caramel-honey sweetness. The body runs thin and a touch sharp at 40%, but the finish surprises — tropical fruit and mocha that linger longer than you'd expect. Fans of the band rate it higher than the rum alone earns.

Quite okay as a starter rum. The only drawback is the thin and sharp mouthfeel, although the finish lasts a long time with tropical fruits and mocha. Otherwise, lots of sugar and syrup notes.

The Kiss gimmick is not enough to overcome a mediocre rum. Straight or mixed, nothing of interest with this one.

In the nose, light banana funk and other fruits, at the same time dark rum notes like chocolate. On the palate, first sweetness, then fruity (unspecific, banana disappears) as well as chocolatey notes, combined with spice, especially in the relatively long finish. Hardly any bitterness, so for a dark rum also pleasant neat. Drinks: - Neat: 3.5/5 - Rum Cola: 3/5
