Easy to sip neat, no heat or burn from alcohol. Sweeter than expected, probably from cask used to age (Armagnac?).

Poured from a bottle that's been open for ~1.5 years and 80% full. Interesting Beenleigh with 4 ex-Bourbon years in origin and 2 years in France maturing in ex-Jurançon wine casks (The color makes me think a Red if that exists). Very maturation dominant, heavy cherry and orchard fruits. Almost like a sour candy in terms of acidity. The Beenleigh character does poke through in the nose and palate but it's definitely fighting for space (and mostly losing). Mouthfeel is not too cloying but loses staying power due to the proof. Overall, it's decent but would prefer pouring a Beenleigh that is more distillate forward.
