Just a sample, but better than expected. I won’t hesitate if someone offers me a glass. The nose is sweet, spicy and woody with scents of vanilla and oak. At the palate it’s sweet, woody and round with flavors of honey, oak, dark chocolate and vanilla. The finish is rather short.
Review by Mirco
The honey-infused blend is round and pleasing for rum beginners. Very balanced. For experts, however, the sweetness is too heavy, which is reflected in the rating. Nevertheless, a solid quality from Samai.

rum from cambodia, something new. intense fruity pot still notes and honey are in the foreground and a little sherry. tastes good but also a little harsh, as it has only matured for 2 years. tastes sweetened

First rum from Cambodia. Super fruity in the nose and mouth, the banana unfolds really nicely after a while; fewer woody notes, but only from new wood (sherry cask not recognizable to me). Slightly sharp, dry finish.
Review by TheRhumhoe
A small, basic rum with an emphasis on sweetness. The nose reveals aromas of honey, caramel, spices and fruit (banana, walnut) with a touch of wood and alcohol. Clearly not the most original profile, nor the most transcendent. The flavors on the palate are not unpleasant: fruit, combined with caramel, chocolate, roasted and sweet notes with a hint of earthy notes form a pretty composition. However, the dilution is too noticeable and dulls the final product. The finish returns to the sweetness of spices, roasted and fruity notes with a caramelized, honeyed influence. Cambodian rums could have great potential if they weren't, alas, so over-diluted.

This one intrigued me because it's a 100% pot still rum (which I love) that is aged for at least 2 years in first oak barrels and then sherry casks (also love) in Cambodia. I did not even know that rum was made in Cambodia. A very agreeable rum that has a rich and quite sweet taste but in a way that does come together nicely. Bit suspicious that there might be some sugar added here though, but even if so very well done and let's hope more stuff from Cambodia can come into this market.

Bonne découverte... Cambodgienne! Nez agréable et goût plutôt réussi grâce à distillation de qualité en pot still mais mérite plus de maturité. 🙂🙂

There is honey and vanilla in the aroma, but the smell doesn't really appeal to me.6/10Very strong honey in the taste, sweet. 7/10Sweet rum, very light.
Review by Necron
It smells of alcohol and fruit. Very strong alcoholic taste and harsh on the throat. Afterwards the taste lasts long but it is a pleasant fruity taste. Honestly impressive but would not consider it for more than €40.

Very interesting nose and the rum is in fact very sweet. Transparency about the process is definitely a plus!

Definitely has a funk, and heavy whiskey bite. I only had a small 50ml taster but I don’t think I’m a fan of jamaican style funky rums.
