The surprise here is how gentle 60% can feel. This Guadeloupe white agricole reads fruity and floral more than fierce — fresh sugarcane, pepper, citrus and an oily, nutty edge. Several tasters swear it tastes like William pear or plum eau-de-vie, and a couple compare it straight to Martinique whites with a softer, more candied, licorice-leaning twist. Fresh, spicy, and easier than the proof suggests.

Another retasting and I also stick to my score on this one. This is a very nice white Agricole. On the other hand comparing the price tag to what you get you then have a very good rum. The nose has very fresh Agricole notes with sugarcane and fruit. Int he back there is are light candied notes and some anise. The finish is long, warm and oily with sugarcane and nuts. A very good buy if you like Agricole.

Beautiful, typical Rhum Agricole with a very fruity nose. Despite 60% alcohol, the rhum agricole is very fruity, floral, peppery and spicy. Quite mild despite 60%. In the T-Punch quite fruity, peppery, the mint was quite dominant for me. Another example of how rhum agricoles from the islands of Guadeloupe and Martinique differ in taste.

This Montebello Zenga Blanc from the Carrere distillery is named after the Zenga rooster, with its great fighting spirit, that rules the barnyard. It’s distilled in January 2019 whereafter it rested till October 2020 before bottled. The nose is round, warm, fruity and oily with aromas of pepper and sugarcane. At the palate it’s warm, fruity, round and mellow with flavors of cane juice and some nougat. The finish is rather long, fruity and spicy with flavors of pepper and lime zest.

Really good overproof agricole. Crass intense after mirabelle plum brandy or even grappa. In addition, beautiful nutty spicy notes, surprisingly complex and alcohol well integrated. Definitely a PLV recommendation! PS: absolute bank in the daiquiri. really tasty!💪🤤

An absolute top recommendation when it comes to white Agricole. A beautiful interplay between pepper, cane sugar sweetness, and fruit with a hint of minerality. A magnificent example. Also a great bottle. The finish is crisp and fresh and lingers. Alcohol is very well integrated—actually not noticeable in taste except for the finish.
