Père Labat Brut de colonne
Fresh-pressed cane, lemon peel and a big peppery-menthol kick — this is a white agricole bottled straight off the still at 70.7%, no water added. Give it 15-20 minutes in the glass or it'll attack your nose without mercy. Most tasters find the alcohol surprisingly well integrated for the proof, with grassy, floral and slightly funky notes underneath. Loud and warming, not a beginner's pour.

Powerful white agricole, all fresh cane and pepper Most drinkers rate it highly — a warming, expressive brut de colonne with the ABV well tucked in. Let it rest in the glass; a few find the pepper a touch aggressive.

Having another go at this one and I still stand by my score. A great warming Agricole that really kicks in the right doors. This rum has to rest for a while in order to settle or it will attack your nose and palate without mercy. A great Agricole with light fruits and spice to it. I like the fresh floral and grassy notes that comes at you, both the nose and palate. The ABV is very well integrated and hands a warm touch to your palate.

Même frappé, je ne m'y retrouve pas. Pourtant j'adore les bdc.

On the nose first still relatively fruity after raspberry yogurt, some citrus abrasion but also the longer it stands more notes of vegetable broth and yeast. Taste then almost typical braising spices such as bay leaf, juniper and allspice. Reminds me somehow of my sauerkraut 🤣 Alcohol is surprisingly well integrated but the flavor is not quite my thing 🙈 In ti punch then quite okay. The recommended drinking temperature of -15 degrees I have now not been able to test but in any case he is definitely better with cold and some melt water.

Very clean and precise palate, nose is gently funky with new tennis ball and tomato.
Review by Thunderbird
A classic unaged Brut de Colonne, which is very pronounced on the vegetal side here. The whole thing is very pleasant on the nose, but then loses out on the palate... the alcohol is not perfectly integrated and leaves a peppery note that is unfortunately disturbing

Very good price-performance ratio. Great fruity, yeasty Agricole in which the alcohol is excellently integrated!

Geschmacklich ein guter BdC, der pflanzliche Noten gut mit Süße und einer gewissen Hefigkeit kombiniert. Die Alkoholintegration ist jedoch unterdurchschnittlich, was den Trinkspaß etwas mindert.

Quintessence du père labat is easy to recognize. Of course we have the fresh cane
Review by N’ours
Very powerful. A beautiful nose, a little spicy but with a strong cane presence. With a hint of citrus and cane sugar. On the palate, it kicks in. Powerful, spicy, peppery. The cane remains with the fruit, but it's hot. Very spicy, hot, alcoholic finish. Not as good as a Longueteau Genesis, but still not good. Try it chilled, it's sweeter and the freshness helps to get rid of the alcohol.

Very expressive on the nose but too powerful for me in the mouth and strangely a bit shot on the finish.

Fort goût de clou de girofle en fin de bouche, j’ai l’impression d’avoir un pansement sur une dent... mauvais souvenir
