The surprise here is the split personality: Hampden funk leads the nose with ester, banana, melon and big vanilla, but Long Pond takes over on the palate — fruitier, lightly oily, and drier than you'd expect. A blend of two Trelawny greats, distilled 2000, aged around two decades. Several tasters found it a touch thin mid-palate and wished for a bit more punch.

A nice blend, for me this is really a good mix of Hampden and Long Pond. Unfortunately, you don't get such treasures at the prices back then anymore. I would have stocked up on this bottling.

Solid blend, predominantly Hampden from nose to finish. For this decent dilution, still somewhat beastly on the palate and finish with additional roasted notes. Oily and creamy finish is fun.

A really outstanding rum. This blend of Hampden and Long Pond is really something. On one hand, we have Hampden with lots of esters, banana, and pineapple; on the other hand, we have Long Pond, which brings more coconut and vanilla.

This is a rum that I think people will agree to disagree about. None the less a pretty good one in my mind. The nose is nicely fruity with vanilla and esters, in the back i find some polish. The palate is true to the nose with fruits and esters. The palate is warm and dry but still well balanced. The finish is long and lightly dry with papaya and roasted barrel.

A relatively tame low-ester blend that’s still fun and works well as a daily sipper. For a Jamaican, it’s classic with mostly high-ester aromas, but it doesn’t deliver them as boldly as others.

A blend of Hampden and Long Pond. On the nose, the Hampden part clearly dominates. On the palate, it's different, surprisingly Long Pond takes the upper hand. Alcohol is very well integrated. Pleasant slightly oily mouthfeel. The release price is of course a dream from today's perspective.

Short prefazit: Very pleasant.Quickly you realize what you're dealing with here. Compared to other Hampden, because this part is clearly the more dominant in the nose, it is neither too soft-purged nor too crass or too exhausting. It is very fruity, with banana and melon very dominant here. But very intense vanilla aromas also dominate the nose, which is a very pleasant interplay. In the mouth it lacks a bit of power and he seems a bit thinAll in all, however, ne very tasty and successful thing, especially if you have the then EK in mind

Great Quality/Price ratio. If the Long Pond involved here was like the Plantation 2000 MBK 51,6% then i understand the need to blend it as the bitterness of the wood can be a bit annoying but the fruitiness is just incredible.

On the nose, almost rotten tropical fruits (pineapple in the lead), a bunch of esters, green banana and solvents. On the palate, still the rotten fruits, a chemical side. The woodiness is also present. Long, dry, and slightly astringent finish. Very good blend, largely dominated by the Long Pond.
