Glue, nail varnish and solvent hit first — this is unaged white Hampden, so that's a feature, not a flaw. Behind the ester wall sits a full fruit basket: pineapple, overripe banana, green apple and citrus zest. At 60.5% it's punchy but the heat stays surprisingly well integrated. A few tasters find the sour edge distracting; most just call it a hogo bomb and buy a spare.

Unaged High Ester Hampden with the typical aromas (pineapple etc.). So nothing complex, but a mouthful. A little more edge than its aged brother from the same bottler.

Still a great Unaged Hampden. Remain enthusiastic. Also in the direct tasting against the 18 month older brother.

In the nose, we find ourselves directly in the production department of pattex (it's glue for those who are not very handyman). It is ultra loaded in ester, there is rubber, solvents, nail polish ... But not that, we find some spices and exotic fruit as Hampden knows how to get it (melon and lemon peel). It is very fresh and fruity. What a nose !!!! The mouth is powerful and alcoholic but does not knock us out despite the 60.5%. It is rather surprising. We find the funky of Hampden and its esters, its olive and some very expressive fruit (green apple). It is intense, vigorous but the 60.5% are rather well integrated. It is even rather reassuring in the end.

Great unaged from the house of Hampden. Beautiful fruit basket, all the typical Hampden aromas are there. You can see how much potential there is in the bottlings from this distillery.

Big Jamaican blend doped with esters and ripe fruit. And despite the alcohol, it goes down well. It's funky as hell. Much appreciated.

... Hampden, the legendary Jamaican distillery that produces not only rum but also alcohol for perfumes. In all rums from this distillery, you will smell wild esters, after which your whole body will be saturated with the scent of yellow tropical fruits - mango, papaya, pineapple, peach. One of the rums that you "must try before you die."

Very punchy funky white rum. Fruity but also acidic. The sour note makes it a bit off for me. Interesting but I think it works better as a cocktail base than as a neat sipper.
