#5168 26.03.2025 Running some samples at home. Nose Fresh, medium intense, spice, light herbal, dried fruit, sugarcane, light vegetal, faint citrus. Palate Fresh, oily, light anise, spice, medium spicy, light citrus, sugarcane, light floral, naturally sweet. Finish Long and warm, light floral, spice, light anise, citrus, sugarcane, faint salt. Empty glass Citrus, light basil, dried fruit, sugarcane, light licorice.

On the nose initially quite shy, individual but not completely unique, on the palate then unfolds a lot of unexpected things. Besides floral notes, a bit of sweetness and citrus, has something tequila-like. In the finish, the sweetness disappears and becomes dry. Very nice progression while drinking.

A white rum in the pure agricultural tradition, as Bologna knows how to make them. The nose is a skilful blend of the greenness of sugarcane fields, tangy fruitiness with lemon zest, spiciness with pepper and mineral notes. The profile is round and expressive. The attack on the palate is bold, bursting with spices (aniseed, cloves) to intensify the profile. Vegetal and citrus notes support the assertive tone of this fairly dry Bologna. The mouthfeel is thick and slightly creamy, which is quite pleasant. The alcohol is well integrated, but this profile is sharper than conventional whites. The finish is very long, carried by the spices (chillies in particular) which bring their warmth, while the herbaceous notes balance out the balance of power. Exotic fruit and sugarcane share the finish. An elaborate Bologna, perfect for spicy Ti Punch.

It's good but not wow. Quite creamy taste on its own. But let's be honest, very few people buy whites to drink them neat. The real test for an agricole white is the dry ti-punch, meaning just a little lime but no sugar. Can it swim in such conditions? Unfortunately no. Despite the high alcohol content, it becomes quite shy and unexpressive in a dry ti-punch. A shame, the taste itself is not bad but you can do better.

Nose : A sweet nose, then peppery, almost spicy. One finds well on the cane, very floral, then of beautiful mineral note, iodized, with very beautiful touch of citrus fruit and menthol.Taste : Very soft in attack, as in the nose, one finds vegetable notes, a little spiced. The citrus fruit takes then, the top, with a bottom a little coppered, always accompanied by a very present cane. Finally we leave on the spices, with a pepper which becomes very powerful.the final: Warm, peppered with a point of citrus fruit.A superb realization on behalf of BOLOGNE, which is at the level of its predecessor.

Nose with a beautiful presence marked by smoke, citrus, lemon zest. A floral side. Very spicy black pepper. Camphor. Palate faithful to the nose with beautiful indulgence and a big handful of spices. I love the black pepper that stands out.

Not a fan of the Bologne house but I wanted to try their canne noire. Surprising mix of citrus and peppery note. The length is not bad but it leans a bit too much on the citrus (I'd say grapefruit) for my taste. Still, it's an original product that I recommend.
