My RumRatings review from 5 years ago: The rum differs strongly from the other Sweetwine bottling from Artesano. The nose is very sweet with burnt sugar, vanilla and orange. A distinct thick fruit note is recognizable. There are light barrel notes with oak and some spice. On the palate, the finishing is clearly noticeable. A thick fruity sweetness pairs with very fine barrique notes. Fruit with orange and berries pairs with vanilla. The rum shows its sharpness and tannins become clearly apparent. In the finish, the bitter substances dominate and the rum becomes astringent. The Sweetwine BA WB is an interesting tasty rum even if not the most exciting bottling from Artesano. The BA WB is a good sipper and very accessible. For me it will always be a special rum because the dedication on the label announces my renewed offspring and the fact that the bottle is opened means the project was successful.

A tasty Panamanian rum. I once compared it to the 2008 S.B.S. Both are quite similar on the nose. The S.B.S. seems a bit fuller here. On the palate, the Artesano is sharper, with more spice, meaning the peppery and drier notes. The ABV isn't as well integrated here, which is nicer with the S.B.S. Still, it remains soft in its own way with a nice sweetness. The S.B.S. has, in my opinion, a more balanced profile and is better balanced. Maybe because it has 4 more years on the barrel. Still, El Ron Del Artesano is a very good rum and it was fun to compare the two.

A typical Lauinger! ♥️ Fruity, relatively soft (for 58.6%). Berry, sweet (without being sugared), slight note from the sweet wine barrel. Really tasty.
