Sip it neat and it comes at you hard — fresh sugarcane, then a surprising iodine-and-salt streak, green vegetal notes, anise and black pepper. Several tasters keep circling back to a roasted hazelnut note that sets this cane variety apart. At 59% it's powerful and a touch rough on the attack, earthy and leathery through the middle, with a dry, oily finish. An unusual agricole blanc, and people mean that as a compliment.

#5025 03.01.2025 Sampling a bit at home after a few days of work. Nose Green, citrus, floral, light vegetal, faint herbal, light nutts, pineapple, faint menthol. Palate Warm, floral, citrus, light mint, light vegetal, faint chocolate, medium dry, nutts, light olive. Finish Medium long, oily, citrus, floral, light vegetal, faint herbs, faint chocolate, spice. The empty glass has light grapefruit and a faint vinegar note.

Super intense, roasted hazelnut, bitter orange and lemon peel, but above all hazelnut. Very cool. One of the most extraordinary agricole blancs I've ever tasted! Definitely great cinema, thanks for the opportunity David!

Nice unaged Agricole. You can recognize the cane. Naturally very vegetal and floral, just as you expect from an unaged Agricole. But actually, hazelnut is also noticeable here.

Here is a white rum that stands out! While the cane is definitely present, it's the iodized side that surprises first. It's also very vegetal and spicy. On the palate, surprisingly earthy and leathery sensation. The cane is there. It's strong. Spicy. Very surprising, in a good way.

On the nose it is citrusy, floral and buttery with a vegetal/herbaceous side, hazelnuts and fermented fruit (pineapple in vinegar), very good. On the palate it is warm and quite dry with cane, butter, hazelnuts, citrus and pepper. In the finish a bit of vinegar, saltiness and a distant earthy note. In the empty glass some fermented notes. Interesting variety of cane.

On the nose: sweet fresh cane, fruity-oily with a hint of dried fruit. The nose is somewhat more restrained than the Baltazia. A touch of anise and saltiness complete the nose. The attack on the palate is again powerful, even a little rough, less spicy than the Baltazia and more fruity (apple-pear), more earthy. The finish is on almond and leather, but is less persistent than the Baltazia. Personally, as with the Baltazia, I regret the rough attack on the palate. In comparison, I prefer the Baltazia to the Genou Cassé because the Baltazia has more length.
