Overripe tropical fruit — mango, papaya, pineapple — laced with glue and ester funk, that's the heart of this 24-year Hampden. Tasters keep noting how well the 59.8% is buried: it drinks creamy and soft, not hot. A little rest in the glass and the funk mellows into something rounder. What a nose...upon opening, the room was immediately filled with a tropical fruit basket of esters...delightful The palate is soft and creamy with a slight funk. After a heavy sweetness, tropical fruits, light wood and vanilla appear. The finish is long and more than good. An excellent bottling

... Hampden, the legendary Jamaican distillery that besides rum also produces alcohol for perfumes. In all rums from this distillery, you can smell wild esters, after which your whole body soaks up the scent of yellow tropical fruits - mango, papaya, pineapple, peach. One of the rums you "must try before you die".

Diamant Advent calendar RFC 2024. A nose full of fruit promises a load of overripe fruit like Hampden, especially the older ones we expect. In the mouth something absolutely complex happens. It has everything, overripe fruit bowl, wood, glue... truly an exceptional piece.

Oh wow, what a beautiful Hampden bottling. The alcohol is well integrated. Nice funk in the mouth that you get there. With a little standing time, it develops even better and reveals a nice creaminess.

The 1992 Hampden has become one of my favorite vintages. Others may be more complex, but the 92s are just so wonderfully balanced. Very fruity, not too much acidity, not too sweet, pleasant wood note, alcohol perfectly integrated.

A beautifully balanced Hampden with a creamy taste of tropical overripe fruit, full of delicate and very refined esters. The alcohol is beautifully integrated, leaving only a sweet ester strength in the mouth without an unpleasant alcoholic sensation. This is one of the great representatives of Hampdens.
