Maison La Mauny Millesime 2005
You'd expect 42% to feel gentle, but several tasters call this one surprisingly intense. It opens fruity and woody — ripe orange, mandarin, pineapple and vanilla — then turns to bitter, wet oak before the sweet sugarcane comes back through. A polished 15-year Martinique agricole, elegant and easy to share, though the finish lands a touch short for some.

Thought this rum is kind of light on the palate i still like it a lot. I actually bought a bottle after sampling it. I'd say price matches the quality.

Lots of lemon and predominantly fruit on the nose, with a taste of salted fruit bread on the palate, which gives it a little more length at the end than the XO. However, I like the taste of this one a little better

Thanks to the La Mauny stand for letting me taste this one. Excellent Agricole, really, quite vinous due to its ageing in cognac casks. I tell myself that reduced to between 45 and 50, it would be quite simply brilliant. But here we have a product that's very tasty, very pleasant, very well-balanced and accessible to all. Bottle finished this evening, really a very fine Agricole.

Very round and palatable Agricole. Sweet, but not too sweet. Ideal for a relaxed summer evening.

Although only 42% very intense. The nose is woody at first and the agricole notes slowly come through. Then a very tasty and intense agricole on the palate.

Nicely fruity and fresh, appears rather younger. Perhaps a little thin in the middle section. Otherwise very good!
