Pleasantly surprising for a Zacapa. Not overwhelmed by sugar, overall quite round but of course without great depth. For the price-performance ratio okay, drinks well neat. There just wasn't anything better in this steakhouse 😉!

Nice everyday rum, easy to drink is the motto here. Spicy, vanilla and a little woody, rather dry, hardly sweet, a little fruit. Pleasant spiciness, but not tangy. Simply round, mild. Nothing extraordinary, but still quite tasty. I didn't pay 30 euros for the liter bottle in Duty Free, so the price/performance ratio is great. Of course, it doesn't come close to the 23-year-old, but at a reasonable price you can confidently strike.

Tasted during a blind tasting, but taken as the only candidate from my collection as a control group. On the nose long very thin. It takes a while before I perceive any specific aromas. The rum has fresh aromas of apple and pear; relatively bourbon-typical, but also somewhat reminiscent of fruit brandies. I quickly suspect Zacapa, although I haven't tried it for a while. On the palate quite astringent. Bourbon dominates with green apple, plus slight honey and baking powder. The alcohol could be better integrated. I adjust my rating slightly upwards after finding the rum overall pleasant, though somewhat thin and interchangeable.

Fruity, fresh, similar to the Limitada. This impression is confirmed on the palate by the citrus component. Its shorter storage time is noticeable due to its clear alcohol presence at the beginning, but this quickly fades.
