Aroma visualization from community tastings
Valinch & Mallet Worthy Park Sainte Catherine 2007
"Not what I look for in a Jamaican" sums up the divide here. The nose is the easy part — banana, pear, red fruit and a twist of orange, floral and inviting. Then the palate turns dark: dry, spicy with cinnamon and nutmeg, woody and clearly bitter with tannins. A few tasters got a sweet, fruity ride start to finish; others found the oak and bitterness took over and the 56.6% never fully settled.
The community says- Fruity floral nose
- Spice-driven palate
- But: Bitter and dry

How does Valinch & Mallet Worthy Park Sainte Catherine 2007 taste?
Aggregated from 20 community reviews.
Fruity nose, dry bitter woody palate Most rate it decent, but a real caveat runs through: fruity, floral nose, then a dry, woody, bitter palate that several call unusual and a touch unharmonious for a Jamaican.

I have had a short break from tasting because I felt like 2-3 days a week with tasting was a bit over the top. Back in shape again and we had a wonderful evening yesterday. This one was a very nice surprise and one I'd recommend to sip if you get the chance. A nice and fruity profile from nose to finish.

Nun ja für einen Jamaicaner etwas untypisch. Finde hier ist es doch recht holzig und bitter wenn man ihn im Mund hat. Der Alkohol ist auch nicht so wirklich gut eingebunden. Ansonsten ist er schon o.k.

Very bitter and woody for the age. Not bad, but a little unharmonious I find. Who likes it spicy and bitter, is right here, but for a Jamaican yet very unusual and also somehow not what I'm looking for in such a rum

The nose has a lovely fruity profile (banana, pear and red fruits). Spices, wood and orange zest. Inviting for tasting... On the palate, it's a far cry from the nose. It's very dark! There's spice (cinnamon) but above all woodiness. The whole is very dry, earthy and relatively bitter (tannins). The finish is of the same ilk, very spicy (nutmeg-cardamom) with a hint of lemon zest. I was disappointed by this juice, clearly expecting more. This aromatic profile doesn't really suit me.

Sikke en overraskelse. Masser af frugt i både næse og smag. Virkelig dejlig rom

I was hoping for more, relatively simple profile. spicy, cinnamony, warm woody and very dry and relatively bitter.... slightly musty furry pear, cardamom, nutmeg and lemon zest, as well as a certain roasty maltiness... alcohol could be a little better integrated, but on the whole okay.
