The Wild Parrot Worthy Park Saint Catherine 2010
Most tasters land on "a really good Worthy Park" without calling it a knockout. Expect ripe banana, apple and candied tropical fruit up front, then a roasted, nutty, woody side with pepper and a salty edge. A few wish it had another year or two in cask, and the 61.3% needs resting. One reviewer even mistook the ester punch for Barbados.
The community says- Ripe tropical fruit
- Roasted nutty wood
- Keep in mind: Alcohol not fully integrated

From community reviews · summarized with AI
Fruity, woody cask-strength Worthy Park Well-liked pot-still Worthy Park: banana, candied fruit and roasted wood with a dry, peppery finish. Several felt it's very good but could use more age and better-integrated alcohol.

Young and very fresh rum on the nose with fruit and spices. On the palate it confirms freshness, for me a bit acidic with apple and spices, especially pepper. Medium finish, I didn't oxygenate it much in the glass, maybe I should have.

In today's comparison test, I poured myself three different Worthy Park rums and took a closer look at a distillery that, for me, tends to be a poor relation. In the glass were the RX20540, RX16339 and RX8876. In my opinion, the finish of the RumClub dominates a little and, unlike the others, gives the rum the most sweetness. The Wild Parrot has the most power in the glass, which I really liked. The Thompson comes across as the most boring of the three. But all in all, none of them were really bad.

8,6:On the nose, mild esters, slightly grassy, flowery and herbaceous molasses, banana and apple, tons of roasted wood notes, a bit sweet with roasted nuts, caramel, pastry, spicy and smoky, bump into our nosetrils. On aeration, the fruits are overripe with red, citrus fruits and pineapple, slightly astringent, various confectionery arises with fruitcake, gingerbread, salty hints, vanilla. 8,7:On the palate, the attack is creamy with roasted wood notes like cookie, nuts, pastry, biscuits, milk chocolate, buttery, spicy with vanilla, a bit sweet, medicinal with menthol, esters, later rubber, fruity with tropical, citrus fruits and peaches, the molasses is flowery, grassy, earthy, vegetal with briny olive, slightly astringent, with meaty hints, when the rum is well rested. 8,4:The finish is long, dry&tannic, as briny, grassy, flowery molasses, dark with licorice, pairs overripe tropical, red fruits, dried and roasted wood notes, smoky and spicy. Edit:31.5.26, oxidation helps, an upgrade for 0.3

Nice Worthypark with yellow fruits as dominant notes. However, it does not leave a lasting impression. Not quite round, not really complex, nice mouthfeel. It would probably have benefited from a little more ageing time
Review by Boletus
Although it is still very fresh on the nose with rather green banana and apple, this rum shows its roasted side in the mouth with slightly spicy spice notes and salty hints, without completely neglecting the fruit. A very nice Worthy Park!
Review by Joe95
A good Worthy Park without being transcendent. Still fruity, a little floral and medicinal, with good length. I think it deserves a little more ageing.

November has been crazy. Got tons of samples and attended 6 tastings and it looks like December will be almost the same. What a way to end the year. Also getting ready for the German Rum Festival and the Whisky Event in Paris 2023. Now to this rum. Nicely balanced and really well integrated ABV. I like the light wood and nutty flavours in there. Rest for a good while before giving it a go to ba able to enjoy all the flavours. The empty glass is also a nice experience after a few hours.

Rum in the ester style. Like the 2006, very powerful and intense. Nose: exotic fruits, caramel and spices well present. Palate: you clearly find exotic fruits, vanilla and a peppery touch as well as a salty touch. The finish is between spicy and salty.
Review by Master P
A young rum with a very fresh nose, characterized by fruit and spice notes. On the palate it remains fresh; for me it is somewhat tart, with notes of apple and spices – especially pepper. The finish is medium-length and pleasant.
Review by Benoit Mahe
A candied fruit salad. The alcohol could be better integrated.
Review by Leo Krüper
Interesting, I would never have suspected Worthy Park. More like a High Ester rum from Barbados. Some caramel or honey, some lacquer.
Review by Skyfly
Jamaica without Hampden Tasting: very good WP with lots of tropical fruits - focus on banana, lots of esters, some young wood and subtle spices. The bottling makes you want more, as this WP clearly stands out upwards.

Borderline alcohol. Very nice balance in taste! Very good WP!

A really great Worthy Park!Beautiful candied fruit Kotb in the nose.Taste fruit and some marzipan.Just a very coherent rum to the more complex Sippen.
Review by Dominic Lutz
A somewhat fresher and slightly ester version than the 2006. On the nose, a bit more complex and less sharp; on the palate also dry, woody, and whisky-like, but for me still a bit lighter and less distinctive, so the 2006 scores better. Not detailed enough for me.
