Sipped neat, this is a Caroni that leans hard into wood and spice rather than the usual dirty tar-and-diesel show. The rubber, solvent and tar are there but dialed back — several tasters call it lighter on the classic markers, more toasted oak, black pepper and vanilla with prune and raisin behind. The finish turns peppery and a bit astringent. Divisive: the nose wins people over, the palate splits them.

This is a nice and kind of light on the typical Caroni notes and still intense at the same time. The nose herbal with banana and light notes of wood, rubber, tobacco and polish. The palate continues on the herbal note with some banana, nuts and vanilla trailed by wood, rae and runner. I get light bitter and salty note there as well. The finish is long and has wood, tar and vanilla to it.

Too mild and with just weak Caroni profile ... Caroni is a distillery from Trinidad, producing at the time of its greatest glory a rum that was added at a ratio of 1:10 to the namornik blend. It was too strong and strange to be pleasant on the tongue. In 2000, the distillery ceased production and closed. Only in 2010 did tasters appear who took a liking to the rum because of its special taste. And the interest grew. Caroni belongs to the category of "you need to try before you die" rums. I recommend it, Caroni is a truly unique rum.

A Caroni not very dirty despite well-present notes of rubber and tar on the nose and found in the mouth. Very spicy but with slightly burnt sugar notes very pleasant. Alcohol not very well integrated. But a very good rum.

Haaa, the nose is coming together. It is different from the traditional Caroni! This is more typed on wood and spices. All encompassed by the typical hydrocarbons of the distillery but in lesser measure than usual. It is more solvent. In mouth, big disappointment, it is very woody. Smoked-toasted woody even! There are plum, raisins, tobacco, mango in the background. But it's not greedy enough. The finish is rather average, very peppery and astringent. The nose was nice but the mouth not very interesting. This rum is much too smooth and monolithic!

Svincany caroni tasting 19.12.2024 the nose I had to search for a while, but eventually the expected technical notes arrive. In the taste, despite the lower abv, a pleasantly intense technical experience scented with sweaty horse :-)

A different rum from the classic Caroni, very typical of wood and spices. At first nose we find a little solvent then a smoked side caramelized.in mouth, piquant, powerful a little astringent. The smoked wood is there, the spices pepper and vanilla a little ripe fruits. The finish is medium, spicy and peppery, with a little woodiness.
