Retasting at Romdeluxe. Had a relaxing online tasting yesterday and it had a vide spread between low and high end rums. Another rum worthy of a beginner. Sweet and light like an everyday rum :-)

For a Central American, quite good. Along with the typical vanilla and caramel, there are also nice honey and chocolate tones. It also has quite a lot of woody notes. Overall, it's a very rounded rum.

A rather well-crafted Hispanic rum, the nose surprises with its mentholated aromas, atypical for this type of profile. The rest is more conventional: chocolate, caramel, woody vanilla, and coconut form a gourmand and easy-to-approach profile. The palate falls back into the pitfalls of Hispanic profiles: caramel, the almost viscous texture that sticks to the teeth with sugar, flavors of coconut and raisins, and some roasted notes come smoothly to the palate but without much surprise. The alcohol is not noticeable in this mass of sweetness. The finish is not exceptionally long but lets some aromas express themselves, notably the return of more floral notes, accompanied by dried fruits (raisin), spicy, woody, vanilla, roasted, and chocolate notes. A profile a bit more elaborate than other Hispanic-style rums, which will serve as a first step for rum lovers.

Then for the 'day’s end' a Rum Nation Panama. Quite okay to drink. Vanilla, chocolate and wood are only very faintly noticeable on the nose. On the palate it becomes a bit more intense, with coconut and honey also detectable.

A very decorative bottle. A nose of tea, quite honeyed with a fruity alcohol side. The palate is very inviting with a rather indulgent chocolate, orange zest and a tannic, green tea side. The finish is short with honey and still green tea. A beautiful rum but maybe it lacks a bit of character?

Sweet as you would expect but tasty road to Panama joy, but aromatic fun. Why not, not for Jaimaca fans or ester. Cannot put blame on this Panama, it was pleasant and tasty. Pleasant on palate, medium on finish.

The nose is dark and a bit closed. It's not as accessible as most rums. The mouth gives a strong impression of sweetness. It's quite unpleasant. It's a shame because the juice seems not bad behind that with a refreshing finish. In the end, it's a profile that could have been nice but the rum is spoiled by this strong impression of sweetness, poorly integrated moreover. I thought I knew there was no addition on this one. Maybe I had bad information or this sweet side comes from elsewhere. In any case, it's a shame, mate

The rum is suitable for beginners, you won't be overwhelmed. Sweet, chocolatey taste with roasted notes. For me a bit too SWEET. More in the direction of BOTUCAL.

On The Rocks: On the nose there is a balanced mix of fruit, floral, spice and oak notes. Taste reveals a strong spike of sweetness with underlying fruit, floral, spice and oak continuing with a momentary burn. Finish is slightly bitter slowly fading away. Mixed Pepsi Zero: On the nose mildly dusty warehouse. Taste presents as a very sweet Pepsi Zero but nothing else. It is very delicious mixed but a little pricy for mixed.

18 years that could have shined better in higher abv.. for me a beginners rum, that has its harmonies but doesn't challenge me the least. Guess it could be nice to offer friends that isn't accustomed to rum but then again other products offer more.

Smells of vanilla, caramel, spices which give way to a gentle nut. Dried fruit. Has a bit of raw cookie dough. On the palate sweet, ripe fruit, vanilla and caramel, with a light citrus coming through repeatedly. On the finish first fruit, then notes from the cask come through. Spices, light nut. All in all quite pleasing. Uncomplicated.

It is really good rum, it is super soft and sweet at the beginning, but it has no body and it comes directly to the long woody aftertaste. Perfectly drinkable, you can even distinguish orange and chocolate in it, but for 18 years old rum, I would have expected more.
