A big thank you to my favorite neighbor from Stuttgart! Unfortunately, “Vom Fass” only provides sparse info, so many details remain in the dark. I find this one extremely similar to the Plantation XO, same sweetness, mostly fresh coconut. Unfortunately, I can't find any connection to distilleries I know from Barbados.

An uncomplicated, sweet Barbados rum, where coconut notes, vanilla, caramel, and tropical fruits stand out above all. It is soft and easy to drink, but due to the pronounced sweetness, it doesn't seem particularly complex. Quite okay for a simple sipper, but if you're looking for a dry and characterful Barbados rum, you probably won't find it here.

Then number 3 from the gift set Vom Fass afterwards. This time it's Barbados. So far my favorite. We have here a lot of (tropical) fruits, especially coconut, on the nose and palate.

A Barbados rum, like one has had many times before. Strongly reminiscent of the Plantation XO 20th Anniversary. Unfortunately, no further information on this bottling can be found, so dosing must be assumed. Quite a proud price for the uncertain rum quality offered here.

Unfortunately, it's not my kind of rum. The fruit on the nose doesn't seem clean to me. There's not much from the barrel either, apart from a little spice. The coconut, vanilla and marzipan notes give me a synthetic impression. It's very sweet on the tongue. I suspect that sugar has been added (and not a little). You can also taste the bitter alcohol (and that with 40% alcohol). Unfortunately, I'm very disappointed with the quality that you get here for not a little money.
