A deep golden color.A very nice nose, dried fruit, tobacco, vanilla. Balanced and melted - as the French would say - not very complex.In the mouth it continues similarly.Great flavor profile, very good rum. The 43% alone prevents higher consecrations. Highly recommended (at the price).The reading material to go with it: Greene's "The hour of the comedians".This was the best - and cheapest - rum in the Grand Park Hotel Rovinj.

There’s barely a hint of flavor before you get punched in the mouth with ethanol. I’d expect something aged 14 years to be much smoother than this. Very disappointing. And the finish is so short and bitter. There really isn’t much here to enjoy

Surprisingly good, better than expected. The nose is fruity and spicy with additional aroma of leather. At the palate it’s very spicy and intense but also woody and with additional flavor of leather and licorice.

The nose of this Barbancourt is quite simple and feels a little unbalanced. The palate is surprisingly sweet and has a very nice texture. However, the profile lacks complexity on both nose and palate. Price to quality ratio is still very good though.

A rum tasted at the Lucerne Gin and Rum Festival 2024. A sweet, intense nose with vegetal, roots, dried fruit, caramel and bitterness. Marked bitterness on the palate with woody/vanilla, dried fruit, caramel and licorice. The finish is marked by bitterness and an afterglow of sugar. A much more interesting rum than the 4 and especially the 8 ans.

7:On the nose, the wood is strongly burnt, which immediately leads us to a roasted register, some vegetal notes. There's cocoa and a fair amount of coffee, note of forest berries . Although this is a pure cane juice rum, a molasses aroma also takes over, with a hint of licorice, accompanied by roasted nuts. One expects something rather sticky, like a very dark honey. The nose is quite intense and full, but also rather linear, gripping but simple. When you air the Rhum, you get the sensation of something powdery catching the nose, the burnt aspect contributing to this impression. There's also some caramel. 7:On the palate it is sweet, the rum sliding over the tongue like a candy. We're still on the same register, i.e. caramel - coffee - molasses (the latter is still a little liquoriced), a black currant note. The woodiness seems less burnt, simply toasted. 6,5:It's this toasted side that lingers, with a hint of alcohol, hint of red fruit, raspberries, blackcurrant... Dry it is... For now, I will leave this rating, with a possibility for some improvements in the future.A bit disappointed... Edit:15.11.25

Basically a solid old blend from Haiti. Pleasantly dry, spicy and a nice note of citrus fruits and yet a pleasant light sweetness. Very elegant and well made. For the last few points and a higher rating, it lacks the necessary "kick" and the certain something, as the finish is admittedly very short. A few % (45-48%) might help here!

For me, this rum is not very accomplished, I can't find any originality in it. It lacks something... maybe a more pronounced cask. 43 degrees and yet quite present alcohol. However, I find Haitian whites different from other whites, but this 10-year-old doesn't really stand out.

Who likes Agricole Rhum, should rather stay with the Rhums from the island of Martinique In this Rhum sugar is used, 6g/L. You can drink the rhum but still good, but is not Agricole Rhum AOC.

Significantly sweeter than the 8 year old. My opinion remains close to what I said about the latter. The double distillation has the effect of creating a rum very close in taste to a molasses rum in spite of being a pure cane juice rum. It's charming, easy to drink, and elegant, but the pleasure of the discovery for this brand evaporated for me a little bit after I realized that the taste produced is too close to a sweet and smooth English style rum like the ones from st lucia or even barbade. It's well made, but not that unique, especially considering the price.

Not bad at all... A fruity, floral nose, and a bit of licorice... On the palate notes of quince, wood, spices, a taste of Spanish brandy that comes back to me, and a beautiful charming and solid roundness. A short finish on vanilla and old wood notes. A good rum without taking risks.

When I first drank the Barbancourt 15 a year ago, I found it strong and alcoholic, but it was very interesting to drink a rum that didn't have such a strong vanilla caramel wood, basically bourbon flavor! It has lost its edges and corners for me (oxidation?). The alcoholic sharpness has faded, but the influence of the French oak is still present. A bit more bitter, a little cherry, very pleasant. The price-performance ratio fits. I'll keep looking and searching in this direction.

A lovely expression of Barbancourt that retains a lot of the specific cane syrup notes (buckwheat, maple, grass) wile integrating mild wood over its aging—primarily in the form of a cinnamon-ginger forward spice. Falls a bit short on complexity and duration of finish.

What was to be desired in the 8 year is completed in the 15. Rounds off the edges with the aging and creats a more rounded profile with a short but sure oak finish. Notes of Vanilla and spice and a leather nose.

Barbancourt aged rhums are typically mild and delicate. The low abv makes it a bit thin. The extra casking done to the 15 yr gives it pronounced wood flavor, but not as woody as a comparable Foursquare. I drink this neat. I won't rebuy.

This is definitely a class above the 8 year. Rose petals come on strong in the beginning. Soft banana. Mahogany furniture like Mujuru says, a wisp of woodiness hangs in your mouth for a bit.

Beautiful cognac-like nose with well-integrated alcohol and additional hints of vanilla, grape, and crème brûlée. On the palate, light hints of cognac, grape, wood, a touch of leather, and a nice peppery note. Not an intense explosion of aromas, but still a great rum that surprised me and makes me want more.

Smells better than it tastes. It is true that it resembles cognac, I just don’t necessarily like that. The finish lasts forever. I had a glass of soda and still tasted the rum afterwardsy. Something’s weird about the alcohol integration though. It’s super smooth and pleasant in the mouth but then I feel the alcohol in my nose, very strange. Apparently, it’s currently sold out worldwide because the earthquake in Haiti a few years ago destroyed the whole production.

Love this rum, excellent price. Don't notice major differences between this one and the 8 years, which I love as well. This might be a little woodier and at first, the impression tastes just like a very good molasses column still rum, then after a few seconds, it comes the Agricole style flavor profile which remains very prolonged on the palate.

On The Rocks: On the nose is smells very smooth with a mild sweetness. Taste reveals a mild alcohol and oak with a delayed spice and burn. Finish is medium with spice and oak. Mixed Pepsi Zero: On the nose dusty Pepsi Zero. Smooth with a mild sweetness. Nothing else really to describe. Finish is very short. Nothing is really gained or lost by mixing it.

On the nose light vanilla and caramel aromas, hints of fruit and wood, sweetish! On the palate sweetness and wood remain, as well as vanilla and a bit of dried raisins. Not very complex, lacks depth and the finish is rather short... For the price, however, the quality is absolutely okay.

This was really smooth. It tasted like some really fancy cognac that actually doesn’t taste all that good but you feel like you need to love because it was expensive. It’s honestly just alright. It’s got a bit of that high end aged flavor that I don’t care for too much.
