Fassbind AG Gardel Secret Treasures Old Guadeloupe Rum 1989
Drinkers who chase old agricole and don't mind a softer pour will get the most here. It's all dry oak, baking spice, leather and dried fruit, with a faint grassy sugarcane sweetness underneath. The nose pulls people in — several call it the best part. The catch is the 42%: after that aroma, the palate lands a touch thin and flat for some.
- Outstanding nose
- Dry woody spice
- Real old character

How does Fassbind AG Gardel Secret Treasures Old Guadeloupe Rum 1989 taste?
Aggregated from 20 community reviews.
Woody, dry old agricole, slightly thin Most love the woody, spiced, leathery old-agricole character and the nose especially. The recurring gripe: at 42% it's diluted enough to feel thin on the palate after such a big aroma.

18.11.2005 at this wonderful hotel at the waterfront in Shanghai. Notes. Lucky to have a German participate. Nice vibrant colour. Woody Agricole notes with plum and raisin. Light earthy notes with baking spices. The palate is lightly dry with wood and leather notes.

Very interesting rum from a distillery I have never tried. Sadly on 42% but very tasty. Loads of oak and wood/winterly spices. Dried fruits. Something old sherry cask-que. If this was on 50% it would taste HUGE. But watered down not too bad either. Very characterful. I love it.
