Despite the "spiced" label, most people barely taste the spice — what hits is pineapple, orange peel and a lot of sweetness, almost like tutti-frutti candy. One taster even compared it to a light, pineapple-heavy Becherovka. A few catch a slightly bitter edge on the short finish. Fun with cola, less loved poured neat, and clearly built for easy summer drinking rather than slow sipping.

I think I found a perfect spiced rum (I am in the phase where I dislike spiced rums). Taste is sweet, like really sweet but I like it very much. The pineapple is the most dominant over here along with tutti frutti/candy like taste and aroma and a variety of spices. I do not have a lot of spiced rums in high regard. I mostly like Captain Morgan Black Spiced because it is great in Cola (trust me you will thank me later) it just goes together like no other.This however is probably one of the best spiced rums to be enjoyed neat.

Got a 5cl sample of this “liquor” from RR Tasting Club. The name Duppy Share comes from the Duppies which is a ghost taking the best part of rum around the Caribbean islands and is the same thing as Angels Share that is the “phenomenon” originally from Scotland. This spiced rum is a blend of 2-year aged rums from Jamaica and Barbados spiced with Pineapple, Kola nut, ginger, vanilla, grapefruit, clove, nutmeg, basil, and orange. For me the orange and pineapple dominates totally together with sweetness in both nose and mouth as well as during the short finish. Added sugar is 29,8gr. I’ve tasted some spiced/flavored rum that I’ve liked, but this one doesn’t count in.

Delightfully aromatic nose (75+), on the palate not quite as convincing, finish almost a bit bitter – definitely a nice summer mixer. 04.2024 First impression: Sweet, chewing gum? Nose: fruit gum, spices Palate: light, fleeting, floral spices, bitters Finish: short, bitters Conclusion: Why did I get this again? Oh, right... it was a gift.

No, this is not my rum. On the nose and palate you get pineapple and banana. The rum is also quite sweet. Why it calls itself spiced, no idea, I don't taste any spices. Mixed with cola definitely top, pure not so tasty.

Smells like a light and sweet version of Becherovka. Tastes the same but with a big pineapple note. In the finish it becomes more bitter like the Becherovka light that it could be. Maybe this is what you get when you mix Becherovka and an energy drink. For as much as I love the unaged Duppy Share, I cannot stand this overly sweet brew.

... Foursquare is a distillery from Barbados producing amazing rums for everyday sipping. It’s a rum especially appreciated by rum lovers who are fed up with sugar and are looking for a gentle, sweet rum full of coconut, vanilla, chocolate, and caramel. Simply pleasant and not aggressive flavors.
