Great for a mojito!Impossible to rate it for its taste characteristics because it is a rum born for cocktails. My rating is purely sentimental since it was my first rum.

Picked it up for Cuba Libres, in which it works great. But obviously had to try it neat to get a better sense of it (even if that’s not its intended purpose). Poured and tried it first after taking it from the freezer. Limited nose at that cold temperature (maybe some melon). On the palate it is pleasantly surprising - Vanilla, young wood, citrus, brown sugar. The vanilla does mostly dominate and persists for a shortish finish. As it warms in the glass more bitterness comes through. I’m happy with this as a good value for money mixer and whilst I won’t repeat a neat tasting, I have no problem finishing the taster - but colder is better.

Fulfills its purpose as an inexpensive cocktail rum, but offers little enjoyment when drunk neat. It is suitable for mixed drinks, but there are more exciting alternatives with more character in this price range.

Havana Club was probably the first rum most people drank. I was also enthusiastic about Havana back then, as Cuba Libre or in cocktails. Of course, we've learned a lot since then 😉

4,5:On the nose, this rum takes us to a fruity spirit, with very little wood and enough alcohol to appear in a festive cocktail. Although it's classified as a light rum, there's no mistaking its nature and confusing it with any other white spirit. Aeration brings out tangy, floral aromas, between lychee and heady tropical flowers. Whatever happens, it remains very smooth and docile. 4,8:On the palate, the rum swirls into thousands of fiery droplets. The alcohol takes effect and refreshes the mouth. The aromas are discreet and rather fine, with the freshness of a red currant or raspberry. 4:The finish leaves a light, rather dry rum taste that quickly fades..

It’s a brash young Cuban rum and not trying to be anything else. As a sipper it is not something I would ever reach for as despite an all together well tamed palatte it is just not as complex as it needs to be to be interesting. As a mixed drink in a daiquiri or cuba libre it is without doubt top class, while you can make more interesting version of both cocktails this just works really well and is a bar staple that I always have on hand!

Very popular rum for cocktails. Due to the young age there is not much to discover. In addition, alcoholic spicy. Havana is relatively expensive, there are better alternatives.

Well, there's not much to say about it, almost everyone knows it or has had it in their glass as a standard mixer in the pub around the corner. Now that the ABV has been reduced from 40% to 37.5%, I had to pick up another 3 bottles on offer for €9.99 for reasons of nostalgia and fomo.

The basic rum for cocktails, with Cuba Libre in the lead. It's undrinkable neat, but blends perfectly in a cocktail. Even if it's possible to find something better, it's good value for money.

For rum and cola, my successor to Captain Morgan. Still not for Cuba lovers in my opinion. (I prefer the Havana Club Especial instead) A young rum for mixing and not for pure enjoyment #######€ 24.05.25 downgraded because of the reduction from 40 to 37.5%... a shame, no longer suitable for mixing. Much too thin.

Pretty good rum for the fact that it is available everywhere and is also cheap. It has its very own aroma, which I like in appropriate drinks. As it is not filtered, it has more character than Bacardi white, for example.

I expected something much worse with this rum. But it’s almost okay. Tastes and smells naturally very alcoholic, the alcohol is really not well integrated in this rum. Main thing is it’s set :)

Havanna Club 3 is a mild, not very expressive Cuban rum. As a 16-year-old mixed with cola, it's pretty good. Nowadays, you really don't need it anymore. At least it's better than Bacardi, and I would always prefer a Havanna.

I think this is a bit of an evergreen among rums. Whether in the classic Cuba Libre or even times purely, that is also possible, although there are many better. The partly harsh reviews here I do not understand, I prefer the simple Havana than any sugar soup for twice the money ;)

A classic that unfortunately is undrinkable neat. Very alcoholic on the nose and it doesn't get better on the palate. This rum is solely meant for mixing. A staple as a Mojito or Cuba Libre but nothing more.

Rum for mixing, which now also deserves a rating neat. The color is white with a slight yellow shimmer. No idea if that's from the age of the opened bottle or just standard because of the 3 years. Not much to say about the nose and palate. Everything unspectacular. Maybe a bit lemony and definitely young wood, which also lingers in the otherwise short finish. Not for drinking neat. Tried it right away as Rum/Cola. You can drink it that way, but it doesn't give the whole thing any character. Conclusion: Yeah, for pre-gaming with youthful Rum/Cola - that's it.

Tasted it just for fun but actually now I perfectly understand why exactly this is one of the really best choices for cocktails. There are no unpleasant residual smell or taste. Just pure alcoholic (agricole) body with very slight tone of citrus and wood. Really good choice for your Cuba Libre, Mojito, Daiquiri or Pinacolada.

I’m actually a big Havana Club fan, Especial and 7 have been my stables for rum and cola for years. Exactly for that reason I thought for years that the 3 is just a bad rum. Because in my opinion it doesn’t go well with cola (zero, slightly softened with sugar), it develops a smoky/metallic/musty somehow unpleasant aftertaste.. You can still drink it, but it’s not really good. In a comparative tasting with Bacardi Carta Blanca, Captain Morgan White, Cubay Carta Blanca and Plantation 3 Stars then the big surprise – surprisingly good and relatively mild (in that field) neat, very good as Mojito and Rum Mule. After Plantation my favorite, ahead of Cubay. Drinks: - Neat: 3.5/5 - Rum Cola: 1/5 - Rum Mule: 4/5 - Mojito: 4.5/5 - Daiquiri: 4/5

Typical mixing rum. Good for Cuba Libre / Rum Cola or Lumumba. In winter, it’s even okay in a hot chocolate, but not really suitable for much else. I definitely wouldn’t drink this stuff neat.
