Tasted 14-03-2016 My original notes in 2016 are a painful read as I didn't clearly understand the place for a beautiful rum . It's designed for mojitos and daquiris, its been the market leader for years and only recently with rum on the upward trajectory of releases is an ice cold Cuban daquiris beaten ...

It’s a brash young Cuban rum and not trying to be anything else. As a sipper it is not something I would ever reach for as despite an all together well tamed palatte it is just not as complex as it needs to be to be interesting. As a mixed drink in a daiquiri or cuba libre it is without doubt top class, while you can make more interesting version of both cocktails this just works really well and is a bar staple that I always have on hand!

I think this is a bit of an evergreen among rums. Whether in the classic Cuba Libre or even times purely, that is also possible, although there are many better. The partly harsh reviews here I do not understand, I prefer the simple Havana than any sugar soup for twice the money ;)

Habe bei diesem Rum mit was viel schlechteres gerechnet. Ist aber annähernd ok. Schmeckt und riecht natürlich sehr alkoholisch, der Alkohol ist wirklich nicht gut eingebunden in diesen Rum. Hauptsache gesetzt :)

Great for a mojito!Impossible to rate it for its taste characteristics because it is a rum born for cocktails. My rating is purely sentimental since it was my first rum.

Pretty good rum for the fact that it is available everywhere and is also cheap. It has its very own aroma, which I like in appropriate drinks. As it is not filtered, it has more character than Bacardi white, for example.

Tasted it just for fun but actually now I perfectly understand why exactly this is one of the really best choices for cocktails. There are no unpleasant residual smell or taste. Just pure alcoholic (agricole) body with very slight tone of citrus and wood. Really good choice for your Cuba Libre, Mojito, Daiquiri or Pinacolada.

Le rhum basique des cocktails, Cuba Libre en tête. Ce rhum ne sert en effet qu'à celà, il est imbuvable pur mais fusionne parfaitement mélangé dans un cocktail. Même s'il est possible de trouver mieux, son rapport qualité prix est bon.

Well, there's not much to say about it, almost everyone knows it or has had it in their glass as a standard mixer in the pub around the corner. Now that the ABV has been reduced from 40% to 37.5%, I had to pick up another 3 bottles on offer for €9.99 for reasons of nostalgia and fomo.
