Diplomatico 2000 – 43% The Diplomatico Single Vintage 2000 highlights the best rums distilled in copper pot stills. Aged in ex-bourbon and single malt whisky casks, then finished in sherry casks for more indulgence. Tito Cordero (best Master Blender 2013) is very proud of it... But enough joking: besides the sherry finish, no less than 24 g/L of added sugar! Enough to kill a diabetic. Result: a viscous and too sweet rum, reminiscent of a Werther’s Original. If you put aside this sickly caramel, you can detect a bit of vanilla, cocoa and woodiness. The finish is short, and the quality/price ratio, non-existent.
