This is a great little rum! I think it punches well above its power for the price (30 euros). Yes, it is a young rum and yes, it is not complex. But it is full of flavor. The nose comes right at you with fruity scents of pear and apple. The Beenleigh profile continues on the palate with more fruits and honey. Obviously the rum is a bit thin but I appreciate these lower alcohol rums that still have lots of flavor to offer. This is a great day to day sipper at a democratic price point.

I find the previous scores that put this rum under 70/100 rather harsh...For a 4 year old Beenleigh reduced to 43%, I find it rather expressive.It is quite sweet on the nose. In the mouth, the alcohol is there despite the reduction and the wood already present despite the young age. Peppery notes, a roundness not unpleasant. But rather successful.

A very sweet nose. Almost sickly. Reminds me of a jar of dried candied fruit. There's also soft woody and honey notes. The palate is a lot less sweet than I was expecting. More on the floral side with a good amount of honey and menthol. The finish has a distinct violet, floral note that fades quickly to black pepper. Overall its not a bad rum but it has a slightly synthetic flavour that doesn't gel well with my taste.

Floral, glue and a bit of honey on the nose. Very unusual but not unpleasant.Significantly less sweet than expected, lots of light/young wood and a touch of honey and smoke. Unfortunately peppery in alcohol and overall rather lacking in expression. Becomes quite meaningless after this interesting honey/wood approach. Too bad, a few percent more and 2 years longer in the barrel could make here really what out of it!
