sharp intense ginger, fully ripe mirabelle, some kumquat jam, mixed with light herbal notes and young wood, green pepper and cardamom, as well as buttery, raw cookie dough with rose water, very cool, finally time Agricole with bums!he needs some time to breathe, before the alcohol is very present and not so well integrated, but after some time it becomes really round 🤤

Not recognizable as R(h)um, let alone as a distillate from Mauritius. Failed. Labourdonnais has a beautifully laid out small distillery with all the trimmings, but in my opinion they simply can't produce really good rum for discerning palates (but really fine spiced rums!!!). Update 2024-04-24: A really difficult rum. The actually quite interesting woodruff note is very one-dimensional and is also ruined by the sharp alcohol. No recommendation.

#4552 16.01.2024 Enjoying a little sample now that I've decided to participate in the meet up in Steinhorst. Really looking forward to meeting some new faces and rummies. This is an OK rum but not one I'd go back to as such. A fruity profile that I think is out of balance. Nice floral notes and a pinch of chocolate in t he profile. The palate is warm/spicy with an earthy note. The finish is medium long and spicy with fruits. The empty glass has light tobacco and faint leather.

A very nice Agricole this is. It tastes quite young, not really 9 years old (maybe continental aging or a quite neutral cask?), but this makes it a Rum that has not lost its sugarcane origins. The roughness of young Agricoles is mild here, but as other said: have it breathe a while. I like it very much, it seems to be an easy sipper. The second attempt was a bit less pleasant, there was a big alcohol burn, thus reducing the overall rating.

Very floral aroma density. Would like to see a little more fruit, especially on the nose. On the palate then a little more fruit and spice. The finish lacks a little power.

Color: White wine Smell: At first sweet and slightly fruity (lychee) and floral. Smells of sugarcane and citrus fruits as well as some vanilla. Also clearly floral. Overall quite restrained. Taste: Plant-like in the mouth with sugarcane and some vanilla. When swallowing then intense and strong, an explosion of aromas. Alcoholic-sharp. Woody, herbal and very spicy with lots of ginger, chili and pepper. Finish: Medium length and dry Plant-like, spicy, woody and alcoholic. In the aftertaste dry, plant-like, salty and bitter. Taste-wise I find it quite tasty. It really packs a punch. Smell-wise it's a bit too weak and not very pronounced for me.
