Sip this one slowly — the giant bottle comes with a pipette, so pouring it neat turns into a bit of a ceremony. Expect classic Hampden funk: pineapple, mango, glue and varnish on the nose, with orange peel and clove on the palate. The 47% sits well, never hot. A few tasters also caught a surprising smoky edge and put it to work in Espresso Martinis and Kingston Negronis.

In the glass, the rum has a golden color and a delicate aroma of mango, banana, pepper and varnish. The taste offers notes of pineapple, orange peel and cloves. I LOVE IT 😁

Uhh yes, a good Hampden, I love Hampden. A nice fruity note on nose and palate. That's about it. Definitely very tasty, the alcohol well integrated, really very tasty. Top rum.

Yes, finally another very tasty Hampden Velier. I find it really very good for the price-performance ratio. Tastes slightly fruity, a bit like ester. Alcohol well integrated. Can recommend anytime.

Opening the pack is an event in itself. Exactly what I like about rum, the pipette and the large vat ensure that you take your time and drinking rum becomes a ceremony. Nose classic Hampden funk, surprisingly smoky in taste. Mouth!
