Relatively light and relaxed "easy sipping" caroni. Alcohol well integrated and unusually little woody and tasty for the age, sherry finish is definitely very concise but not too dominant.

#4759 22.06.2024 Nice tasting afternoon and evening with Hannes at the shop in Odense. Nose Light, light wood, faint caramel, spice, dried fruit, floral, light chocolate. Palate Light, oily, light wood, light chocolate, dried fruit, faint mint, light floral, light medicinal. Finish Medium long, light wood, light cherry, dried fruit, light medicinal, faint chocolate. This is a very light Caroni without the traditional Caroni notes. Not bad but not a Ding Ding version either.

27-09-2024 - Rate 9.1 Cool to taste some Caroni distillery back in the 80’s A really good Caroni. Missing a bit power in taste but gains on the nose 14-10-2025 - Rate 8.8 02-05-2026 - Rate 8.7 A good Caroni. Not that much power though.

Strange Caroni. Tastes like aged neutral alcohol with a sherry finish. Very thin, probably a blend of HTR and LTR.

Relatively clean for a Caroni. Very easy to drink. Nice malty aromas. Intense, full flavor. Could have been a bit more full-bodied for the price, but which Caroni is still cheap these days? Definitely an experience.

... Caroni is a distillery from Trinidad, producing rum at the height of its fame, which was added in a ratio of 1:10 to naval blends. It was too strong and strange to be pleasant on the tongue. In 2000 the distillery ended production and was closed. Only in 2010 did tasters appear who liked the rum precisely for its special taste. And interest grew. Caroni belongs to the category of rums "you need to try before you die." I recommend it, Caroni is really a unique rum.

Relatively neutral flavor profile. Only on the palate with subtle hints of the typical HTR aromas, but mainly leaves the impression of a rather neutral distillate with a subsequent finish. Drinkable, but without enthusiasm for me.

This sample is a bit like a trip to the city. You're super lucky to score that Caroni girl that all the boys want. You bring her home and hope she's wild in bed, only to be disappointed because she's not. It's the same with this one, it tastes good but there's not much wildness about it. It's more the Caroni name that's wild.
