I like quite well ... not as dirty as often with Caroni (clear many love it exactly therefore) I find the interplay of the typical Caroni notes (rubber, leather, tar, etc.) with the yet beautifully fruity character great. Hints of chocolate and dried fruit.

Not a particularly good Caroni. Lacks character, somewhat flat, alcohol not well integrated.

The nose is restrained. The typical Caroni associations are recognizable, but lack some depth and complexity. On the palate, a nice composition of dirty Caroni notes and a pleasant sweetness. Here the rather weak impression from the nose is made up for. The alcohol is well integrated. Bottom line, a good Caroni to enjoy an evening with. Postscript: after an hour of breathing, the nose unfolds and a great dark, toasty, chocolatey aroma with a nice sweetness emerges. The palate also makes a nice jump forward. Great creaminess. Definitely let it breathe. One is rewarded!

Neither fish nor fowl. Not really dirty, not very sweet, a little bit of everything without a clearly recognizable line. Reminds me of the Bristol Caroni 10 VSOC. Much more characterful in the second tasting! I like it a lot. A solid entry-level Caroni with good power.

Beautiful tropical fruits, banana, pineapple dominate, but in the background less pleasant flavors poke their noses out, metallic, bitter, fermented notes. The palate is nice with well-ripened tropical fruits, a supporting woodiness and strong mechanical workshop notes. But, as on the nose, acidic/bitter, medicinal flavors join in, which cost it points. The finish is powerful, completely in line with the palate with smoke and leather added. A wild, masculine rum, not to be put in every glass. As it oxygenates, it seems better and better to me.

In my eyes not a particularly interesting Caroni. Few dirty notes, little sweetness, slightly sour finish. I miss the harmonious interplay of fruit, sweetness and dirty notes here.

After the third tasting I stick with 8+ points. A good Caroni, with dirt and especially bitterness. That makes the rum very interesting in the end. The alcohol is well integrated. Would be a great entry-level Caroni...

Even though this Caroni certainly lacks in depth it certainly is a pleasant easy sipper that has most flavors of the classic Caroni profile.

Clearly a Caroni, but the typical notes are somewhat weaker on the nose and palate here. Caroni lovers will find it lacking, but it would be a nice entry into the Caroni world.

Tasted against the Bristol 1997 (2015 release). Not bad, but really not particularly good either. Both nose and taste have nice facets but don't feel particularly complete and rounded. Lacks depth. Still tastes good. The nose is a bit better than the palate here. I find the SBS set clearly the better deal here.

On the nose you know where you are! Without being extravagant, you find the typical Caroni markers! A bit of salty tar gasoline! Some fruit too. On the palate, the alcohol is quite well integrated. You find the markers from the nose again. A nice salty Caroni but not too much!! I really like it.
