Color: Pale gold Smell: At first fresh, fruity and sweetly alcoholic. Aromas of apple, pineapple, melon, and tropical fruits. Also vanilla. Remains alcoholic. Taste: Initially sweet and creamy in the mouth, then sharply alcoholic. When swallowing sweet and fruity-spicy. Vanilla with toffee and licorice in the background. Finish: Medium-long and spicy Very tasty, what a positive surprise 87 points

A year ago awarded 79 points, now, with more experience and in direct comparison with a Cuban from Bristol (evaluation follows), I must unfortunately devalue considerably. This rum is unfortunately an uninspired, unbalanced something, artificially sweet and tangy at the same time, unpleasantly astringent, which is simply out of place here. And I'm very much afraid that's not because I'm in the mood for the day. I wonder what distillery this should have come from. Hard to imagine that this rum could come from the Paraíso. Sorry, not drunk out.

at first somewhat pungent and strong on the nose, with hints of fireworks, gunpowder, sulphur, tobacco, and also mirabelle plums, pears and green apples. rarely experienced... The taste is like Werther's real thing with a kick! Dark chocolate-caramel candies with tobacco, lots of spice and a little apricot and peanut butter. All in all, a surprisingly drinkable Cuban and at cask strength too. that's rare from Cuba, unfortunately! it will definitely remain in my home bar 🤤🇨🇺 is fantastic old fashioned with honey and lemon zest!

01.06.2019 Had a nice meet up at this Nordic Rum Fest where we brought some of our own bottles. Notes. Light in colour. Needs to rest for a good while. Nose: light wood, fruity, raisin, caramel, sweet. Palate: naturally sweet, wood, caramel, tobacco, spicy, fruity. Finish: long and warm, wood, light smoke, tobacco, dried fruit.

My RumRatings review from 5 years ago: The nose... the nose is so unique for me. The smell of yeast dominates. A fresh chunk of yeast. That’s totally fascinating. Why I don’t know. Over time more barrel notes come through. Oak and vanilla. Some roasted aromas. Hardly any sweetness or fruit. On the palate the rum is very spicy. Some licorice and vanilla resonate. But then also more fruit. Fresh fruits. The alcohol is super integrated. The finish is long and intense with the mentioned aromas. Exciting. I couldn’t quite grasp the rum and would have to try it more often. But that also makes it so fascinating... Good? I don’t know... But fascinating.
