If you like old, dry agricole with the grassy side sanded down by decades in the glass, this 1979 Depaz is your kind of bottle. The nose leans wood, orange, raisin and cinnamon; the palate is nutty nougat, black pepper and dried fruit with a floral, slightly bitter finish. One taster sums it up flatly: "It tastes like old wood." Give it time to open.

Needs some time in the glass after opening, but then it really hits hard: fantastic Agricole profile with spices, dried fruits, nuts, chocolate, wood... a poem. Very impressive how dense the aroma is here.

22.08.2010 with a few close friends at this cool sports bar. Notes. Medium dark colour. Nose: wood, orange, cinnamon, leather, raisin. Palate: light, wood, roasted, raisin orange, dry. Finish:woody, floral, spice, nutty.

Very very nice old vintage Agricole from Depaz. At 45% not thin at all but really intense and elegant. Dark black pepper, nougat and caramel, floral notes on the finish and a bit of spicy fresh allspice, as well as dried fruits. Surprisingly good for a rum from this era!
