Mhhh, this is delicious! You can easily taste the Calvados finish, but it goes very well with this Agricole, everything is very harmonious. I don't think it needs to have more oomph - just a light, elegant starter to the evening. Thanks, rumdog, for the sample!

Very disappointed by this tasting, a superb nose very fruity with elegant woodiness. On the palate the reduction ruins everything, it's too smooth on the wood and spices. Will try again to confirm or not this big disappointment.

Originally from Normandy, I've known Calvados since I was little. I was a bit curious to discover the rum and Calvados barrel blend and I'm really not disappointed. The Calvados takes a lot of space but it really pairs well, taste-wise, with the rum. On the nose, the apple comes first. Then caramel, coffee. On the palate, the apple starts and fills the mouth then gives way to sugar, fruit, and wood. The whole is rather dry. It's really pleasant. Everything is even more pronounced after a few minutes at room temperature. Really a nice surprise for me.
