Agricole drinkers who want raw cane and nothing else will find their bottle here. Fresh-cut sugarcane, cut grass, olive and a squeeze of lemon zest, bone-dry and very intense — at 73.7% it lands with real heat but the alcohol reads surprisingly integrated. A few tasters note a bitter grapefruit edge on the long, herbal finish. Water helps.

A brut rum with an intense but delicate column. The nose is extremely floral and vegetal, with sugarcane, hay, grass and olive very much in evidence. A few fruity notes also appear briefly. By contrast, the attack on the palate is more diversified, fruitier (exotic fruit and citrus) and very fresh, with notes of eucalyptus, menthol and basil. The profile remains very fine but very intense in terms of taste, very dry but very round and with plenty of freshness. The very long finish returns to the floral, vegetal, earthy and herbaceous side, leaving a strange sensation of warmth in the throat but plenty of freshness in the mouth. A rum that's very clear-cut, but remarkably fine for its degree.

A slap in the face! Everything you need to compete with Genesis, and with less alcohol (but no pepper notes, it's pure vegetable cane). To sum up, my tasting notes: Nose: Herbal, Vegetal, Sugar cane, Intense, Lemon zest On the palate: Herbal, Sugarcane, Intense, Vegetal, Fresh, Balanced Finish: Warm, Herbaceous, Vegetal, Sugar cane

For me, it has the most dominant sweetness of all the BdCs so far, but in a natural, pleasant way. Alcohol integration also good, overall on par with the Reimonenq.

Lovely rhum, learned to rub it into gums to feel the flavour. Highly recommended and one of the best examples for sugarcane flavours I know of. Great stuff!

Intense. Normal given the alcohol degree. It's ultimately the even more raw expression of the reduced version. Very cane, citrus, floral. Quite pleasant.

Stéphane: Saint James: we do organic and have been working on the carbon footprint for 20 years - Obtained the AOC Rhum Martinique in November 1996 - But reflections on it date back to 1976 / Marc SASSIER Cellar Master - Organic Innovation / President AOC Martinique Make the infinite with the finished. 100L in a cask 15 years / 35L VO / VSOP / XO Organic Brut de Colonne Heart of heating 60° Distillation in the Martinique column still and not in the Charentais pot still Saint James - Organic - Brut de Colonne Descent from 75° to 74.2°, to respect the AOC because the proof of a Martinique rum is max 75°.

Very nice nose of fresh cane, quite vegetal, the palate is lively but there is a hint of lemon that shows up, leading to a slightly more bitter finish, on grapefruit, which I unfortunately like less. Very nice overall though!
