Near-universal awe here, with one honest snag: at 73.3% the alcohol isn't always tucked away, and a couple of tasters docked it for that. Otherwise this old Port Mourant is deep and oily — leather, dried plum, tobacco, cola and smoke, with tropical fruit buried under the layers. One member calls it "the ultimate plum bomb." A rare, unicorn-tier Cadenhead's bottling most will only ever get to sample.

Really oily streaks in the glass. Wonderful nose! Beautifully fruity on the palate, less caramel than the 36YO, very round and balanced despite the high percentages. The 64 PM's are simply the absolute Champions League!

Absolutely fantastic nose, among the best I have ever come across. Leather, dried plum, wood, caramel, tobacco, cola notes, tropical fruits… absolutely impressive. On the palate the fireworks continue - the alcohol is noticeable, the complexity remains breathtaking. A fantastic release.

Tasting at the bar. I don't think rum can reach higher realms than this. Although only a 25 ml tasting, I remember the smell and taste to this day. What a joy for all rum drinkers who got to taste things like this at prices that today are 50 times more. So Uitvlugt, Doudy Port Mourant legendary. 1964. And 73.3% that feels like 55%. This is intense on another level. Leather. Black and rotten fruits. A bit of lacquer. Smoke. Tobacco. Mold. Chocolate. Hard to explain the quality of this. If there were tropical fruits under these layers... score 100. Glad I got to taste something like this. A taste of the past.

If you have ever worked with cherry wood, this is the smell and taste. Combined with plum wood. Amazing full taste. The alcohol is strong, but still acceptable. Extremly expensive sample, but you need to taste at least one of these superexpensive Cadenheads in your life..
