Almond paste, chocolate and citrus lead the nose, then a wave of sweetened sugar cane, vanilla and pepper on the palate. At 71.7% it runs hot — several tasters call the attack aggressive — but most agree the alcohol is surprisingly well integrated for the strength. A demanding, "gourmand" aged agricole with a long, spicy, faintly smoky finish. A few still prefer the unaged version.

#5068 Friday 24.01.2025 - 26.01.2025 A nice weekend in my sisters summerhouse with old friends and colleagues tasting a lot of rums. I can only recommend like we did, no phones allowed and then only music in the background 😊 Colour Light. Nose Intense, light wood, light earthy, spice, light pear, faint olive. Palate Intense, warm, light wood, light tobacco, spice, light salt, faint citrus. Finish Very long and warm, light citrus, light tobacco, faint cinnamon, light salt. Empty glass Lime, light wood, faint olive, faint grapefruit. Needs to rest to really open up properly.

Taste explosion in the offing? Nose: apple/vanilla/nougat Palate: lime/bitter almond/alcohol Finish: rather long with peppery notes Superbly integrated rum, despite the 71.7%, but it still heats up! I'm glad I tasted it, because if I had a bottle, the level would come down very slowly ... I prefer the original, unaged version.

Gourmet nose of almond paste, chocolate, citrus (blind about 55°). On the palate it’s still gourmet with the same notes and spices, the well-sweetened cane gains amplitude. (Between 60 and 65° blind). Long finish on cane and spices with some smoky notes that appear after long aeration. Very good old Longueteau, gourmet for such a high proof. I still prefer the unaged version though 😋

Quite atypical and complex nose. Very aggressive attack but opens up to notes of vanilla, dried fruits and a relatively soft finish.

Beautiful tasting, gourmand and spicy: a bit too volatile on the nose, but alcohol quite well integrated on the palate, On the palate a rather spicy play of spices enhanced by fresh alcohol, and a nice acidity...
