Longueteau Genesis vieux 2016
Almond paste, chocolate and citrus lead the nose, then a wave of sweetened sugar cane, vanilla and pepper on the palate. At 71.7% it runs hot — several tasters call the attack aggressive — but most agree the alcohol is surprisingly well integrated for the strength. A demanding, "gourmand" aged agricole with a long, spicy, faintly smoky finish. A few still prefer the unaged version.

Nez gourmand sur la pâte d'amande,le chocolat, les agrumes (à l'aveugle environ 55°) En bouche c'est toujours gourmand avec les mêmes notes et des épices, la canne bien sucrée prend de l'ampleur. (Entre 60 et 65° à l'aveugle). Finale longue sur la canne et les épices avec quelques notes fumées qui s'invitent après une longue aération. Très bon vieux longueteau, gourmand pour un tel voltage. Je préfère malgré tout la version non vieillie😋

Taste explosion in the offing? Nose: apple/vanilla/nougat Palate: lime/bitter almond/alcohol Finish: rather long with peppery notes Superbly integrated rum, despite the 71.7%, but it still heats up! I'm glad I tasted it, because if I had a bottle, the level would come down very slowly ... I prefer the original, unaged version.
